On this day, during the 1st Test against New Zealand, three pairs of brothers played for Zimbabwe. Andy and Grant Flower, Bryan and Paul Strang, and Gavin and John Rennie made history during a game in which Zimbabwe almost pulled off a victory as they needed just two wickets to win the game when it ended in a draw. Grant Flower shone with the bat, scoring twin centuries, and in addition to the three pairs of brothers, Guy Whittall also played this game, while his cousin Andy Whittall was the 12th man.

ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023 Final

The Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union is thankful and grateful to all the Members of the Union and every other Zimbabwe Cricket Supporter for gracing and supporting Team Zimbabwe in its quest for a World Cup berth.

The journey which started beautifully in packed grounds in Harare ended bitterly. A fully packed Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Tuesday.

A record of 4 oversubscribed matches, Zim vs Nepal the opening game, (HSC gates closed at 2:30pm), Zim vs West Indies (HSC gates closed at 11:30am), Zim vs Sri Lanka (QSC gates closed 1pm) and Zim vs Scotland gates closed at 12pm)

The only time we had a full stadium and gates being closed was the fateful day in 2018 and when Rhodesia hosted All Black's for a Rugby game in the 1970s.

From us at ZCSU, we say thank you to all the Fans for such a marvelous record breaking supporting run.

ICC has trusted Zimbabwe to organise the 2018 CWC Qualifiers and the response of the FANS and the organizers made it possible for ICC to give Zimbabwe more tournaments to host, we have since hosted the Women's Qualifiers 2020, T20 Qualifier B and now the CWC Qualifiers in a row.

On top of this, Zimbabwe will host the Under 19 World Cup in 2026 and co-hosting the CWC in 2027.

On Sunday July 9, as Supporters let's throng the Harare Sports Club in our numbers to say thank you to ICC for giving us an opportunity to host and watch several internationals stars in action. Let create history and memories together at HSC. The World must know that Zimbabwe is rising and has the best passionate Supporters in the World.
