Archbishop of Canterbury urges Ugandan Anglicans to reject anti-gay law

The Archbishop of Canterbury has urged the Anglican Church of Uganda to reject the country's new anti-LGBT law, saying there is no justification for Anglicans anywhere to support legislation that goes against the Christian teachings of the Gospel.

Justin Welby, leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion, said he had written to Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba, the Primate of Uganda, to express "grief and dismay" at the church's stance.

"There is no justification for any province of the Anglican Communion to support such laws: not in our resolutions, not in our teachings, and not in the Gospel we share," Welby said in a statement on Friday.

Kaziimba said in May he was grateful for the new law. He said homosexuality was being forced on Uganda by "foreign actors ... who disguise themselves as human rights activists" and went against Ugandans' religious and cultural beliefs.

The Church of Uganda says 36% of Uganda's population of around 45 million are Anglicans.

The Anglican Communion, which numbers tens of millions of people across 165 countries, is deeply divided over the ordination of gay clergy by some churches in some Western countries, and attitudes towards same-sex marriage.

The Ugandan church has been at the forefront of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON), a conservative group. In April, GAFCON said it no longer had confidence in Welby because of his comments in support of the blessing of same-sex unions in churches.

Welby said in Friday's statement he was deeply aware of the history of colonial rule in Uganda but "this is not about imposing Western values on our Ugandan Anglican sisters and brothers".

"It is about reminding them of the commitments we have made as Anglicans to treat every person with the care and respect they deserve as children of God," he said.

Obey Makamure born 29 November 1993),popularly known under the stage name Tocky Vibes, is a Zimbabwean award-winning Zimdancehall artist, songwriter and lyricist. He has released multiple singles.

Early life

Makamure was born in Rugare Suburb, Harare. He was first spotted by top Zimdancehall artist Winky D, which led to recordings of his earlier music. His parents wanted him to focus on his studies and thought the music scene would affect his studies. They moved him back to their rural home in Chivi Masvingo Province, and later he moved to their farm in Rusape outside of Mutare . Later local reggae and dancehall artist Emmanuel "Guspy Warrior mafia19" Manyeruke took him in and helped reignite his career. He made frequent visits to Harare to record until he decided to reside in the capital permanently.

Music career

Tocky Vibes released an album Toti Toti in 2015. The album was recorded using live instruments. Before the album Toti Toti HE WON AWARDS at the Zimdancehall awards in 2015 for the songs Tocky Aenda Nenyika and Mhai. Ever since then the artist has become one of the household names. He is considered one of the most talented artists in Zimbabwe because of his lyrics which have a rich social message. Being talented the young man took it by storm and now has another single hit song in 2018 called Chamakuvangu and one above all called Kendura. Faith is yet another and its real that the young man has take it by storm ( Aenda nenyika )

Controversy

In 2020 a man named John Vashico, a Tocky Vibes look alike made rounds in Glendale claiming to be the musician's father.Vashico claimed to have fathered Tocky Vibes and other 10 children and deserted them. The claims were dismissed by Tocky Vibes surfacing pictures with his biological father who is based in South Africa.

Endorsement

January 2015, Tocky signed an endorsement deal with local cigarette manufacturer Savannah To***co. The signing of the deal was also testimony that Tocky Vibes had grown to become a household name such that companies wanted their brands to be associated with the artist. The deal was said to be the most lucrative in the land after it emerged that the deal was worth usd 200 000.Tongai Zvaravanhu, the chief operating officer of Savannah To***co, noted that although public opinion was initially skeptical whether Zimbabwe Dancehall would last, Tocky Vibes had been a revelation. Citizens Question Validity of USD Balances and Banking System Integrity
The communication from banks conveyed through emails and messages to clients, has left many Zimbabweans bewildered and uncertain about the accuracy of their USD balances and the overall trustworthiness of the banking system. Opposition politician Linda Tsungirirai Masarira, who leads the LEAD party, expressed her scepticism on social media, stating, “Who is fooling who? The banking sector in Zimbabwe is a sham.”

BREAKING: The Minister of State for Harare Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Oliver Chidawu has died.

Senator Chidawu, who was born in 1954, became the youngest mayor in the history of Harare city in 1984 at the age of 29.

He was a chartered engineer and entrepreneur, chairman of African Banking Corporation Zimbabwe, non-executive chairman of Manders Group and founder of Kuchi Group of Companies.

Senator Chidawu was also a major shareholder in Bitumen Construction and a founding shareholder and director of Heritage Investment Bank that merged with First Merchant Bank in 1997.

He sat on the board of Bindura Nickel Corporation Ltd.

African leaders and African Union should be ashamed. We must hang our heads in shame.

More than half a century after gaining independence we can't even feed ourselves, war between some two neighbours in Europe is causing us pain real pain.

Let's talk numbers

*Africa is 30 million sqkm land size*

Africa land size is bigger than USA, Canada and South America combined or Russia , China, India and Europe combined

Looking at Africa Congo DRC is 2.3 million sqkm more than 4 times the size of Kenya, *River Congo alone can light up entire Africa through hydro power.*

South Sudan fought hard for independence but feeding itself is a one major challenge despite having vast oil reserves and arable land.

*Ukraine that is feeding most part of Africa is a mere 603, 548 Sqkm almost similar to Kenya or South Sudan.* The latter has both blue and while Nile flowing through it yet hunger is their middle name.

Even South Africa is begging Russia to allow Ukraine to release the grains in their silos. Even Egypt is facing crisis since bread will soon be alien and The Pharoahs will erupt. It is not any better in Tunisia. *It is clear it doesn't matter if you are black or white African the DNA for deficiency to engage our brains is the same .*

None other than Chairman AU and President of Senegal went to swee talk Putin to go easy on Ukraine since Africa will starve. Even powder milk was coming from Ukraine and wheat from both Ukraine and Russia.

*So Africa after half a century of independence what is our contribution to mankind?*

We don't invent anything, even vaccine for covid we waited for donations and when PPEs were donated the kits were stolen. When Pfizer vaccines were donated we had to also ask for the syringes to administer the jabs.

*If we can't manage ourselves is it about time we outsourced leadership like what firms do.*

There was drama in parliament as Minister of Finance Prof Muthli Ncube escaped out of parliament at a speed which could easily won a medal at Olympics.

Reliable source say former Minister of Finance Hon Tendai Biti had questioned the logic of having government services paid in USdollar but paying civil Servants in local currency.

Prof Muthli Ncube tried to defend the government policy which angered opposition members of parliament .Hon Tendai Biti said " Mr Speaker with your permission I call upon hon. Members to get hold and search Prof Muthli Ncube.If they find any amount of bond note in his pocket I will give him three mombe dzinotsika naMai Dzvororo."

When some members of parliament moved towards the front bench which is occupied by Minister .Hon Ncube dashed out of parliament at very high speed leaving the house in stitches.

"Mazviona iye unoda kupa vana zvaasingadyi.This man is there to destroy ZanuPF.We are going to lose this election because of this man." a ZanuPF member of parliament shouted in the midst of the confusion.
