Today South Africa bids farewell and honours the incredible life of a trusted father, teacher and healer who showed us a kinder way to be.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Archbishop Desmond Tutu has passed away on the Day of Goodwill. The anti-apartheid activist and Nobel peace prize winner stood for justice, unity, and peace. Tutu brought South Africans together, naming the diverse country the ‘Rainbow Nation’. Long after the end of apartheid, he continued advocating for human rights throughout the globe. Through his words and actions, Tutu reminded the world that there is inherent good in all of us. May we never forget his wisdom.
“The challenge is not to model yourself on somebody else; the challenge is to bring out the best in you to fulfil your potential.” - FW de Klerk
FW de Klerk’s legacy has left an indelible mark on our nation, one that cannot be separated from the overall story of South Africa’s becoming. Our condolences go out to those mourning the passing of the former president and Nobel Prize winner.
