ReWild

ReWild Restoring wilderness to ourselves & our world Ultimately we want to create a greater connection between people and the wilderness around them.

We are passionate about conservation, ecology and exposing the diversity of our country, presenting through short, informative and entertaining film and VR. We also have a passion for community outreach, and are driven with the long term goal of making impact at a community level. Now that you know what are our values and passions, the way in which we hope to make an impact is through Communicatio

ns and Design Thinking. Through technology and visuals we hope to build a multi - media platform where we use film/photography and Virtual reality to tell necessary stories within the human built environment and its relationship to the natural World. Design is everything you manage to find around you. Design Thinking, is ultimately our ability to look from a macro level, see who are the various role players within a system, begin discovering potential solutions to design issues, define , prototype and finally TEST.

What an epic time to witness the WWF team monitoring Mozambique’s coral reefs - a beautiful combination of advanced techniques and a deep passion for preserving these underwater ecosystems.

By studying coral resilience, they’re creating a blueprint for sustainable coastal management, helping protect both the reefs and the livelihoods of local communities.

5k more votes to go! The Penguin Petition is currently on 25k, and they need 30k! Follow the link in our bio if you’d like to sign the petition. Do you have 30 seconds to spare?

The African Penguin is at risk of going extinct in the wild within the next 10 years, and we need to urge the SA government to take the necessary steps in avoiding this.

Cancer is a journey no one chooses, but within it, stories of strength and resilience shine through.

In the midst of this fight, there are beacons of hope. In Zambia, Dr. Kathleen Schmeler, a gynecologic oncologist, is not just treating cancer; she’s changing lives. Her work is more than medicine - it’s about empowering women with knowledge and access to life-saving care.

Cervical cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in Zambia.

Karen Nakawala stands as an advocate of hope and awareness for us all. Thank you for sharing your inspiring story with us.

Here are some behind-the-scenes moments we captured during the production of the Don’t Gas Africa, ‘Shifting Power’ documentary.

This production is a special one for ReWild Africa in many ways, with the most significant being the impact of our FreeWilder ‘freelancer’ Ecosystem on ReWild’s success in productions. One of the things we love most about what we do is having the opportunity to collaborate with many incredible, talented, and passionate filmmakers.

For this project, we had the privilege of working with freelancers (Tim Van Vuuren), , , and Matthew Reeler. Their contributions are invaluable, and they invested so much effort into this project. We would like to thank and appreciate them for their contribution. We learn a great deal from their expertise and enjoy the fresh ideas they bring to the table. If you are interested in joining our FreeWilder Ecosystem, the link is in our bio!

We would also like to express our gratitude to our internal production team members and for their incredible work on this project. This team consistently gives their all during productions, which is exactly what is needed when telling pivotal stories that shape our world. We eagerly look foward to 2024 and cannot wait to continue creating stories that matter and collaborating with talented freelancers.

Don’t Gas Africa is a campaign led by African civil society to ensure Africa is not locked into fossil gas production. A people-driven approach involving swift social, economic, and political transformation aimed at realising energy democracy. Don’t Gas Africa calls for an end to fossil fuel-induced energy apartheid in Africa.

To help amplify this impactful message, we recently produced a film for Don’t Gas Africa. A gripping documentary that provides an intimate lens into the lives of African communities, whose existences and futures are being reshaped by the gas boom. The documentary positions itself not merely as an observer but as a narrative woven from the fabric of the affected communities, offering a humanising perspective on the socio-economic and environmental upheavals they face.

The film also follows the stories of five change agents who are a huge inspiration to us and the rest of Africa. Taking on a giant challenge with so much courage and unwavering spirit. Making profound impact in their communities by working with and educating them.

This was a special project for us. An enriching experience of learning, inspiration, teamwork, and adaptability.

A special thank you to the team who helped put together this phenomenal piece.📹
