Our Story
By flying in a V-Formation, birds help each other to go further than they would on their own. In a V-formation, the whole flock adds 70% more flying range than if each bird flew alone. In this way, they have less resistance and use an estimated 20% - 30% less energy (Waldron, 2014). As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird following. The V isn’t just about staying in the right place. It’s also about flapping at the right time! They are masters of efficiency by applying the principle of synergy! As they switch places in the flock, they sometimes find themselves directly behind the bird in front and caught in its downwash. If that happens, they change their flapping so that they’re doing the opposite of what the bird in front does. Rather than tracing the same path with its wingtips, it flies almost perfectly out of phase. “It’s almost like taking evasive action.” They seem to be able to instantly respond to the wake that hits them. Flying in a V is not a skill the birds are born with, it takes time to learn! They learn the skill from each other. It’s almost like mutual coaching! (Yong, 2014). The birds in V-formation encourage each other!

By applying the natural principle of synergy, V-Formation (Pty) Ltd. want to create inspirational content with the purpose to coach people who are caught in the downwash of life, to change their thoughts and for them to get synchronized with their own God-given potential, talents, and gifts to live a passionate purpose driven live. Like the birds in the V, V-Formation (Pty) Ltd. want to use the audio-visual medium to encourage people who are caught in the downwash to change their rhythm, and like the birds, almost take a counteraction to the things that hinder their God-given potential. By using real-life case studies, research and inspirational content V-Formation (Pty) Ltd. want to inspire people to instantly respond in a positive and mutually beneficial way to the wake that hits them. Just like the birds who are not born with the skill to mutually benefit each other in the V-Formation, people need transformational coaching to overcome the obstacles that limit their potential.
So our mission is to produce inspirational stories with a transformational outcome.
