Our emails are down, so we're Gmailiing for now.

If you've ever interacted with us over the years, Thank you. Small business means tighter circles. And as those circles are made, we recognize the part you played.

Cheers.

It was a pleasure welcoming the little people back to school.

It was a pleasure welcoming the little people back to school.

Bafana Bafana were in Stellenbosch as part of their preparations for AFCON.

I caught these boys on my way out. They were watching Bafana train.

I was left with mixed feelings wondering, will the Bafana players shake their hands or even wave at them?

A lot of the Bafana players don’t have strong social skills, so I won’t be surprised if they don’t greet!

It’s an area SA football has ignored for years.

It takes a lot of confidence for a person to ask questions, because that’s basically admitting YOU DON’T KNOW SOMETHING!

Bafana players couldn’t even lift up their heads to smile and greet us the media that was there for a whole 30 minutes waiting for them, to arrive a whole 30 minutes late.

It’s a real concern for me, I personally believe that social confidence does half the introduction for you as a person.

I guess I’m from the school, where we were taught to greet when you’re the last person to arrive or enter a room of people!

Crazy thing is, a lot of the Bafana players were these kids just a few years ago, but I can bet you that doesn’t even cross their minds until off-season when they do their guilt-driven tournaments ekasi.

A lot of them have to be begged by peers to do something back home, not to give money, but do something to help sustain the same platforms they benefited from.

Of course SAFA had no material (posters, flyers) they could give these boys as well.

It’s SAFA, even printing paper and giving media water is a financial challenge.

There was no canteen or kiosk in sight at the Stellenbosch venue they were training at so we couldn’t even buy ourselves water.

Back to the kids!

None of these kids had as much as a pen 🖊️ for the players to sign something!!

Can we blame the Bafana players for ignoring I’ll-prepared kids??

It will be sad if they don’t get their handshakes or high fives, but Bafana players are also not obliged to shake hands!

The Hoodshed

The Hoodshed started out as a live drumming event hosted in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town. The idea of it was to maintain a collaborative culture within Cape Town’s live music scene. Being a bass guitarist, I’ve developed a dope relationship with percussive elements. I actually see myself as a drummer in many aspects of my life. Finding a rhythmic gap in a space in time seems to be my daily duty. I constantly seek to recognise this beautiful expression within others, which comes in so many forms. This has lead me to The Hoodshed. It is my collaborative effort at maintaining rhythm within our city. I currently offer video services. Please get in touch if you’re onto something. 076 272 6898 Peace, be with you.
