Of course, this is going to be about Angel Bella🌈, who we lost last Friday. 😿

These are photos of her (and the boys in the last one) on Gotcha Day on November 1, 2020.

I don't believe I have ever shared these before, except the last one.

Thank you to everyone for the continued love and support for us and the boys as we live without our little queen. ❀️

Our little girl is gone.

Bella peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge today, with us by her side. Just as we have been with her, giving her love, care, and support through her fight.

It was a war that we knew she could not win, but we thought that we could battle with her longer. The fight became too much for her. We didn’t want her to leave, but it was time.

She was only here for four years. Not nearly long enough in our eyes, but for her, it was four years of unconditional love and affection. And it was returned to us, ten-fold.

She had no idea how much she helped my wife, Marci, after the death of her mom and our last senior, Tabby in 2020. As some of you know, we figured out later that Bella and her littermates were born the same week that Tabby died.

It’s funny how God works things out, isn’t it?

We placed Bella in her final resting spot near the window that she and her brothers spent hours looking at birds and rabbits. Teddy and Bailey can watch over her now, as she watched over them. She is wrapped in the quilt she came to us in in and the quilt send to her with love from .

Bella, not only did you bring joy, smiles, and laughter to us, you brought joy to so many others. You and your brothers allowed us to meet so many wonderful friends from so many places around the world.

I’m going to miss your beautiful voice, your floofy tail dance, your loud purrs, your sweet kisses, your beautiful eyes, and your fluffy paws.

But little girl, you will never hurt again.
You will never have to take another dose of medicine.
You will never be weak and frail again.
And you will never ever leave our hearts.

You were the best little girl and sister, Bella.
You can rest now.

Maybe check in on your brothers occasionally. You know how much of a handful they can be.

Thank you to Firetower Animal Clinic and Carolina Veterinary Specialists, Matthews for all of the love, care, and kindness you showed Bella, and us, through her many challenges. We could not have made it this far without your help and guidance.

And the greatest thank you to Saving Graces 4 Felines for rescuing her, her littermates, and so many others, to give them the best possible chance and a full and love-filled life.

Bella had an adventure today! πŸ™€ She went outside for the first time since she was a days-old rescue back in 2020.

For our long-time followers, you know that with the Original Hurricats, as the time neared for them to cross the Rainbow Bridge, I always wanted them to get some enrichment by going outside.

For Bella, who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, this was her first time experiencing the grass, the sights, sounds, and smells of outside (other than through a window).

She has been having a few rough days lately, but today we felt that she was good enough to go outside before the winter blast hit us in a couple of days.

She loved it... and so did we. ❀️

This Thanksgiving we are so thankful to have so many wonderful friends that sent, and continue to send, our sweet Bella love and prayers.

We love you all and wish you a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving, if you celebrate.

I still can't get over how much Teddy is staying by Bella's side most of the time. They definitely have a strong bond and he can sense that something is not quite right

We've set up some old cameras to keep track of Bella's water, and litter box habits.

The first video is of Bella moving to a resting spot and the second is Teddy coming in to lie near her, just a couple of minutes later. 😻β™₯️

Bailey has been in there some. He is much more bonded to Teddy than Bella, but seems to be giving Teddy the space to keep watch on their sister.

It's really been amazing and heartwarming to see. β™₯️

Have a wonderful Friday! 😽

Bella has had a less active day today, so other than her meds and checking in with her in her room, we've let her rest. πŸ’€ She has been out a couple of times to see what's happening but soon goes back into her room to lie down.

This seems much harder on us than it is on her. 😿

Hi everyone & happy ! 🐈
This has been a busy week. πŸ™€

CatDad Chuck had knee surgery on Thursday. He's recovering but very sore. 😿 On the positive side, he will get to spend the holidays at home with us! 😺

Bella (giving her best diva pose below) is still doing well. Receiving more love & attention than she probably wants. 😹 She still gets tired easily, but she still appears well, happy, and content. β™₯️

Meowmy Marci has been very busy taking care of them both. She is the greatest ever. β™₯️

We all wish you and wonderful weekend and ! 🐈

If Bella could talk, she would probably say, "Thank Mew," to everyone for their outpouring of love and support over the last few days. ❀️

(Actually, she would first say, "Please get the camera out of my face!" Then, thank you. 😹 )

We have been able to tell over the last couple of days that the increase in steroids is working.

Her appetite and hydration have increased. She has been going to the litter box on a regular basis. She still plays with us, but not on her own. And she suddenly appears and is begging for treats when she hears the bag crinkle. 😺

Really, the only sign that something is wrong is her wobble walk, and she gets tired quickly.

So she appears to be comfortable and happy, and that's what we want for her. ❀️

We had a visit with the wonderful Dr. Eldridge at Firetower Animal Clinic this week and we all agreed that palliative care was the best course to take for Bella's quality of life. Bella was just happy to get some Churu from her. 😹

I have been posting daily updates on our IG Channel (https://ig.me/j/AbYrJXG6uJJ3ARm3/) for anyone wishing to join. We would love to have you there!

On a personal note, I will be having knee surgery on Thursday. If all goes well, I will have several weeks home to spend with Meowmy and the Queen as she continues her journey. I can't wait.

We wish you a wonderful week. We love you all and thank you joining us and the Hurricats. 🐈🐈🐈

On Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Bluesky, we have been overjoyed and deeply touched with the outpouring of love and support for Bella from people all over the world. Thank you! ❀️

We brought Queen Bella out to spend some time with her brothers this evening. ❀
For most of the day, she has been in a nice, safe spot, of her choosing, in our front bedroom.

She is still not walking but a few steps at a time, and she is eating and drinking very little. But she is responsive, loving, purring, and generally being a very good girl. ❀️

We spoke with her oncologist this evening and, well, it's not good. There could be a biopsy done on the mass in her abdomen, but the doctor said, based on the scans, tests, Bella's history and doctor's personal experience, it is almost certainly lymphoma. And it's inoperable, even if it is not cancer.

November is National Pet Cancer Awareness Month in the US. We faced cancer with Tabby 🌈, now we walk the path to the Rainbow Bridge with Bella.

We will make every moment with her the best it can be, as we always have tried to do.

We will give her every ounce of love that has been sent to her from people all over the internet.

And we will let her go when she tells us it is time. She deserves to go on her terms, just as she as done everything else in her four very short years.

Forgive me if this account is silent for a while. We love you all and we thank you all for the blessing of having you in our lives.

Hi everyone. Thank you again for all of the wonderful love and support you have sent and continue to send to our sweet Bella. ❀️

I wanted to give you all an update. Last night, we realized that Bella was worsening and couldn't wait until her scheduled appointment on Friday to be checked again, so Marci (Meowmy) took Bella this morning back to our local office.

The vet found a mass in her abdomen. After some tests, an x-ray and in consult with the Specialists in Matthews, NC (near Charlotte), it was decided that she should go there for further tests.

So, Bella and Meowmy made the four-hour trip to Carolina Veterinary Specialists Matthews to have more tests done.

The diagnosis from the doctors is possible Lymphoma. We will talk to an oncologist tomorrow to see which way to proceed going forward - chemo or palliative. Or if surgery is an option.

It's not the news we wanted, but now we have to think about what is best for Bella, not for us.

We ask that you continue to keep our little princess in your thoughts and prayers. Keep sending her all of your pawsitive energy.

As always, we send you our love and thanks for allowing us to be a small part of your day. 🐈🐈🐈

Bella had a decent weekend, but she still has weakness in her hind legs and is very tired. She seems to hit a plateau in her improvement.

She is moving around the house, following us occasionally, and even went upstairs for the first time in a week.

But most of her day is spent sleeping.

She is eating, although not as much, drinking plenty of water, and using the litter box.

She goes back to the veterinarian on Friday for a follow-up.

We just want her to get stronger and eat more. Those seem to be her two challenges right now.

Thank you for the continued love and support for our little Queen. ❀️ We love you all and wish you a wonderful week ahead.
