Founded by Cynthia Blancaflor, award-winning writer, musician and filmmaker, who earned her degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University in 2003 and is

a certified video editor through Bay Area Video Coalition. She edited "An Idea Called Tomorrow," a documentary on sustainability produced by visual artist, Karen Seneferu. The film screened at the Skirball Museum and the California African American Museum in Los Angeles, California in 2009. Cynthia was awarded an SF Bay Guardian GOLDIE Award for music as the lead singer for blaktroniks in 2002. She has been featured as a performance poet at numerous events, most notably, the 20th anniversary of "This Bridge Called My Back," a feminist literary anthology. As apart of Kreatibo, she was awarded a Curve Magazine Theater Award for her writing and performance in "Dalagas and Tomboys: A Family Affair" at Bindlestiff Studios in San Francisco, California in 2005. As DJ Uni, she hosted "Her Blu Majesty" on Peralta Colleges' 9thfloorradio.com internet radio show from 2008-2013, blending a soulful, melodic mix of musical genres and featured local talent. DJ Uni has been featured at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Eat Real Festival, Oakland Indie Awards, Impact HUB Oakland and held a DJ residency at Hotel Vitale in San Francisco, California. She currently resides in DC where she is originally from and DJs/hosts Soulsonic Sessions with DJ Uni at Eaton Radio, a monthly DJ show featuring fresh grooves in R&B, hip-hop, funk, disco, house and more. She recently moved back to her hometown, the DC area, in 2017 and is currently a resident DJ at XX+ Crostino in DC.
