Evening gown night ❤️

Thank you W Keith Pittman with Lasting Impressions Formal Wear and Sherri Hill for helping me make my gown dreams come true. This gown is such a representation of my style and made me feel empowered and confident on stage. I believe evening gown is truly a moment to show the way our inner beauty can shine through our poise and confidence.

Tomorrow, I walk into interview for the job of Miss Georgia.

I sit back and I think of the younger version of myself. She couldn’t see the future. Everything was bleak and dark. It took me years to speak out. I felt immense shame, guilt, and even coldness towards my struggles. However, I held on. Even when I could barely move out of bed, I held on with my mantra: “just keep breathing, Savannah.”

And then at 16 my life would be saved through a pageant. I believe our trajectory can change from a single moment. For me, it was my interview the first time I competed in the Miss Thomasville Scholarship Program I told a story about a friend who was struggling so much. My director later asked me about this story and I felt empowered after a week of self discovery to admit that my friend was me. Later, in a circle we’d all speak about our “why’s.” And with that same director sitting by my side I admitted to every girl that my friend was me. That moment sparked my journey to making a better tomorrow for myself.

Now, I get to compete for the opportunity of Miss Georgia with the honor of being Miss Thomasville. I also get to build a further sisterhood with two girls Miss Greater Atlanta and Macy Taylor-Miss Red Hills that sat in the same circle with me back in 2021 as my life changed forever.

I walk into interview tomorrow for 16 year old me and for the fact that my story is one of a million. We all have the ability to change our part of the world, and for me that is through being the reason at least one person keeps breathing.

WOW: everyone’s reaction to Sheldon Smith photography. Miss Georgia Scholarship Organization is so lucky to have them on our team.

Day 2 of rehearsals is in the works so I wanted to highlight a quote that is getting me through this week, “great things never come from comfort zones.” I’ve had a plaque in my room since sixth grade that has this insanely motivating message. Comfort zones are easy. They’re lovely, to be honest. But, to find growth as a person you have to be malleable. To find growth, especially in an amazing organization like , you have to look fear in the face and say “you won’t control me.”

So, to all my fellow MAO girls (both near and far) remember that with growth comes fear. But, when we leave our comfort zone magical things happen.

Big thank you to Kia Autosport of Columbus for being such a gracious sponsor of Miss Georgia Scholarship Organization!

Hello Miss Georgia 👋🏼
I’m so excited to be competing for my dream job this week. Thomasville, I hope to make you proud. 🩵

I am in the last two weeks of my reign and I was sitting back today in full gratefulness. It’s very easy to get caught up in the next big thing, but I’ve been in a constant state of gratitude. The last year as Miss Thomasville has been a DREAM come true, and I’m beyond honored to be pursuing the dream of Miss Georgia under this title. I leave tomorrow morning and I feel at peace. We hope to make you proud, Thomasville🩵

For the next 24 hours you can have your chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card if you turn in a pack or box of diapers! I am very passionate about helping the mothers and children of Columbus through the Diaper Drive! So, let’s fill up this board! All you have to do is purchase the diapers and send confirmation through a photo, and tomorrow afternoon you can turn them in at 5pm at a common meeting place!

Have you ever thought about speaking to the younger version of yourself?

What would you say?
What would you do?
What would you ask?

My personality, let’s put it into nice words… blossomed at a young age. I was loud, performative, and EXTREMELY energetic. My parents quickly realized my personality needed a place to thrive. I made my pageant debut at a year old! And from that point on I knew where my home was. For me, home was never my house, my room, or a person. Home was the stage. Whether it was pageantry, dancing, guitar, singing, or theatre- I felt my 100%, authentic self on the stage performing. However, silly enough the stage wasn’t always legitimate. Sometimes, it was a box in my living room while I made my parents watch me perform an entire musical (I played every character, of course) or my love for being in costume (none of these pictures are from Halloween🫣)

Then, I grew up. The stage stayed a home. Through many avenues and ways. In my darkest moments, performing was my escape. The one place I could go and feel like life was exuberant and lively. I somehow became myself by playing hundreds of different characters. I’ll never be able to explain it, but I felt the most “me” whenever I could entertain a crowd with a song or moving piece of theatre.

And now, I’m about to leave to take on a new stage. The Miss Georgia stage. Competing for this title has been a longstanding dream in my heart, and if I could go tell the little version of myself what she’s doing now, I know she’d be proud. Life hasn’t always been easy, but it is worth it. I’m so glad I found reasons to keep breathing, because I would have left a lot of unfinished dreams behind if not. So, as I take on the next week I remember Her. The little girl who couldn’t quite find her place in the world, so she stepped up onto a stage. With a cupcake dress, and ruffled socks- she found her home.
