Join us for the St Pete Pride Trans March, presented by TransNetwork, TransFest, and TransAction Florida, leading the St Pete Pride Parade, June 22nd at 5:30pm.

The St Pete Pride Trans March envisions a world where all Trans and gender non-conforming people are safe, loved, and empowered. As the rights of the Trans community continue to be under attack, it’s more important than ever to gather in support of all Trans and gender non-conforming people providing an opportunity for increased visibility and presence at Pride. Through the Trans March our communities have an opportunity to heal from all forms of violence and oppression we continue to face.

The Trans March will step off from Vinoy Park between
5:15-5:30pm and march along Bayshore Dr to meet the Pride Parade.

Join us on Sunday, Feb, 25th 3pm at Green Light Cinema in St Pete for the screening of Friends & Family. This is a cross between La Cage and The Godfather. Stephen and Danny are a cool Manhattan gay couple who have it all, until a surprise visit from Stephen’s parents threatens to blow the boys’ big secret. The secret is not that they are gay, but that they are hitmen for the mafia!! Since Stephen’s Dad is an FBI agent, the guys are desperate to keep this secret. They enlist their fellow mobsters to pose as gay waiters at the faux catering company Stephen “owns” so they can host a party for Dad – with hilarious complications. Starting with ‘s chronicle of the quintessential q***r indie rockers “It’s Only Life After All” (premiered at ☀️ 💃🏽) and closing out with the deeply personal musical tale of love set to Indigo Girls songs 🎶 (made with an overwhelmingly LGBTQ+ ⚧ and female-identifying crew + cast including + more), tonight is a closer for the books. The intention of the Tampa Bay Transgender Film Festival is to highlight and elevate Transgender Day of Remembrance. As we know, it is well beyond time to honor the transgender lives that have been lost to incessant, unnecessary violence, and to use media as an educational tool to bring that same violence to an end. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20th that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Sadly, 2021 has already seen at least 47 transgender, nonbinary, or gender non-conforming people fatally shot or killed in the USA by violent means, the majority of which were Black and Latinx transgender women. We say "at least" because too often these stories go unreported -- or misreported. Jump, Darling At 94, the late, great Cloris Leachman steals the show in this gloriously offbeat drama about a drag queen who takes time out to care for his wise-cracking grandma. Russell is at a crossroads in life. Approaching 30 and wondering if his big plans to become a serious actor will ever come true, he looks for performance kicks as a drag queen. The drag causes friction with his strait-laced businessman boyfriend, so he takes off for a bit of space at his grandma Margaret’s house. Rather than the convenient crash pad he had in mind, his usually quick-witted gran is at her own crossroads, becoming more forgetful than she’d like to admit. As family secrets emerge, he is forced to find his feet, but will he land in stilettos or something more sober? Overflowing with warmth and wit, Jump, Darling is the perfect swansong for long-time LGBTIQ+ ally Leachman, that will further cement her iconic status for many a drag queen to come. Creative OUTlets Episode 2: Sam Obeid

Spoken word poetry continues to gain popularity -- from the National Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman’s poem “The Hill We Climb” which she recited at this year’s Presidential Inauguration and as soon as it was published debuted at #1 on bestseller lists -- to this summer’s release of the feature length movie Summertime, a dramatization of several poems written and performed by diverse and q***r high school students in Los Angeles. If you didn’t get a chance to view the film during our “Queer in Color’ BIPOC film festival last month, then check it out at the Tampa Theater starting July 9th. Speaking of poetry, in this episode of Creative OUTlets co-hosts Zachary Hines and Derek Horne got to chat with local poet & activist Sam Obeid about her background inspiration and future projects.
