I know there are lots of crowdfunding campaigns flying around lately for local film productions, so why should you contribute to THIS one? This film will be a joint venture project between Bug-Juice Productions and FilmsKaycee Pictures, and will feature a very different and visceral superhero story, continuing the successful Mr. Happy film series! One the things we look for in projects that we support are stories with passionate people behind them that will lay it on the line for their art to make something great.

That's what Denise Pounds and her team are doing with "Pagan", which has a super talented cast of folks we in BJP regularly cast in our own labors of love! It's been awhile since posting...must get better about that. However, that's not to say nothing is happening. SO much is happening!

The re-release of "Going My Way" has been completed and has been submitted to festivals, as has the collaboration with CorMel Productions, "Rejected". "Down The Cubicle", "Eat Cute", "Trick or Treat" and "Manhunt" are set up to be released yet this year, with "Grey Infused with Color", "Althaea's Pendant" and "Xmasphiliac" inching closer towards picture lock as we go along. We have collaborations rolling with Wicked Owl Productions, Arch Films, Films Kaycee Pictures and Wicked Wildflower coming up...and finally, this year we've been "getting back to our roots" and doing some timed film competitions (Film Racing and the 48 Hour Film Project) while we allow time for post-production work to catch up and develop some feature scripts we've had simmering.

This weekend we jump into the fray of the 72 Hour Horror Film Race, and we are cooking up an interesting concept! Stay tuned!

We are so excited about our upcoming film production of "Althaea's Pendant", and can't wait to share it with you! It's an original Greek mythology tale of two Gods, Apollo and Dionysus, at odds with each other over the beautiful Princess Althaea. It's got a talented cast and crew of locals, professional fight choreography utilizing an ancient Greek martial art called Pankration, it's got trained animals, dazzling special effects, exquisite locations such as The Parthenon in Nashville, TN and Sunset Bluffs in Washington MO, and it's all being done, practically, here in our own backyard of the Midwest. It take a village, a community, to make something like this happen...and YOU can be part of our village by contributing to our Kickstarter. Hey BJP fans and fellow filmmakers! Been a minute. So what's BJP been up to in that time? Well, we are wrapping up post on Down The Cubicle for submission to the showcase, getting closer to a fine cut on Trick or Treat, and progressing forward with Eat Cute, just to name a few.

But the most impressive thing we have cooking right now is an original, mythic tale from ancient Greece, being done entirely with Midwest locations and a select blend of practical and digital effects. Teaming up with Intentionally Ambiguous, fellow 48 Hour Film veterans like ourselves, we have put together a kickass production team of some of the best on the local scene. "Trick or Treat" and "Down The Cubicle" in rough assembly cut phases.

"Eat Cute" moving forward into the rough cut phase.

"Nighty Night" and "$20 & A Pizza" horror shorts, joint venture with Wicked Owl Productions, editing underway.

"Manhunt" rough cut completed, in review for fine cut edit.

"Grey Infused with Color" final scenes being filmed late September; "Honeymoon" main shoot filming in late September.

"Untitled Holiday Film" in pre-production stages for early 2022.

"Althaea's Pendant", joint venture with Unintentionally Ambiguous, in pre-production for Summer 2022.
