Wavy Magazine By Cole Yamane + Lindsey Okubo //

Grassroots storytelling; combining text, photo and video. By us, for us all.

Something is happening ... call it change, call it development, call it progress or inevitable, call it whatever you want but the waves continue to roll in. Wavy Magazine seeks to make change timeless, to explore the constants, to tell evergreen stories that resonate from generation to generation manifesting in passion, tears, laughter, old Polaroids and scars. During this anomalous time where "pr

int is dead", where cranes appear to be the new "birds of paradise" along Honolulu's southern shore, we realize that we were raised not in the Hawaii of old. The urban island culture of our upbringing lead us to larger cities turned perspective-shaping vessels as the likes of NYC + SF have bred and refined the crafts we use to tell these stories to an audience that knows no bounds. Upon our return home to Hawaiian shores we breathe life into Wavy in hopes that this publication can serve as a universal and comprehensive way to preserve things that have already come to pass so that we may remember, grow from and grow together in an age where tomorrow is its own horizon.
