Webster University has a new chancellor: Timothy Keane has been named the successor to Beth Stroble, whose final day as chancellor was June 30. The announcement came in a campus-wide email from board of trustees chair Sumit Verma Tuesday afternoon. A St. Louis native, Keane is the current dean of the Knauss School of Business at the University of San Diego. Keane officially begins his duties Aug. 1. In his email, Verma says he is acting as interim chancellor on an unpaid basis until Keane assumes his new role.

The restaurants in Marletto’s and Far East Fusion will be gone by August as Webster’s food service company, Sodexo, is leaving.

Sodexo has been Webster’s provider for the past 25 years. According to Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students John Buck, Sodexo is a company that wants to focus on larger clients and the company is not satisfied with their performance at Webster.

Glamour, who believes in St. Louis’ “unparalleled potential,” decided to run for office in hopes for the city to better understand the people in their community.

Advertising itself as a blind-accessible sport, Beep Baseball puts all players on an even playing field, as almost everyone, including the hitter, wears a blindfold.

The 2024 Beep Baseball World Series will take place in St. Charles, MO, starting July 21, with multi-gold medal olympian Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

The Pearson House garden, overrun with weeds and ivy just a month ago, has now been transformed with freshly planted flowers thanks to new caretakers giving it some much-needed attention. Starting this month, students and staff will come together every Friday to bring the garden to life.

The Glen Park Apartments, located on Lockwood Avenue, will no longer be an on-campus housing option next school year.

Webster University’s lease agreement with Glen Park ends July 31, 2024. Students who signed up to live at Glen Park can cancel their housing contract without penalty until May 1.
