SPOKANE, Wash.– Saturday, people lined the streets of downtown Spokane for the first-ever Lilac Festival holiday parade. During the parade, Washington State Fallen Heroes Project honored men and women who gave their lives serving our country. The Washington State Fallen Heroes Project creates large banners of fallen heroes that are carried in parades and posted at events throughout the northwest.

AJ McClean Sings to Cat Davis
Between the coughing and fighting another bout of pneumonia, Cat Davis finds happiness in hearing the sweet sound of a Backstreet Boy serenading her from hundreds of miles away.
“It literally blows my mind. I still can’t believe it,” said Cat Davis.
A few weeks ago, KXLY 920 News Now shared a story about Cat’s decision to transition to palliative care. In that story, Cat indicated she wanted the ballads of her favorite boy band, Backstreet Boys, to play at her funeral. That story went viral. And a friend of a friend just happens to know, AJ Mclean, a Backstreet Boys member. And the rest is history.
“I woke up to friends texting me. I was tagged in an Instagram post,” said Cat.
That post was AJ McLean delivering a heartfelt message to Cat and then singing a few lines from the 90’s hit, I Want it That Way.
“His voice is amazing! I'm obsessed with all the members of the band. You could just tell he’s genuine. He was so heartfelt,” said Cat.
Cat’s saved the video on her phone, and she watches it all the time. The message is a sweet note in the most difficult of times.
“I could just feel his heart go out to me,” said Cat.
