2,000 Friends of Allendale Neighborhood

Allendale Under Attack. Wednesday night we got word that an outgoing member of our Caddo Commission was going to attempt to add an agenda item at the last minute to the final meeting before the new Commission would be sworn in. The item was a resolution supporting building the I-49 inner-city connector through Allendale homes.

We met for over an hour yesterday at lunch and developed a group of neighbors from Allendale and outside of Allendale to go speak in opposition to that item. It failed to garner enough votes for addition.

This is how our politicians represent us. With last minute sneaks like this. We rose to the occasion, showed up, and showed them we are not going to leave Allendale. We love it there.

Corruption In Caddo Parish: The Truth Revealed - The Informer

In our magazine, we recently published a series of articles that cast the Caddo Parish Sheriff, Steve Prator, in a negative light. We were initially concerned about his continued ability to govern our community after several incidents came to our attention that we believed were worthy to report. After we began to investigate the claims we had read and heard about, it became very troublesome to continue as we faced increased threats and harassment from law enforcement and ardent supporters of the Caddo Parish Sheriff.

The Informer‘s mission statement reads: “It is our mission to inform the public, closely examine controversial topics, ease social tensions, provide accountability to our local leadership, and to be a powerful voice for the underrepresented.” In our magazine, we recently published a series of articl…

Dr. Daniel Mendelson, a geriatrician and associate professor of medicine who practices at the University of Rochester Medical Center affiliate Highland Hospital, believes that more bad outcomes occur for seniors from mis-prescribing than from discussing the needs of the patient or other medical procedures.

Although su***de is a major issue for all populations, the highest su***de rates occur in males over 85. If you have ever been in a nursing home, it’s not hard to figure out why this is. The elderly in America often feel like they have been forgotten about. With 1.4 million residing in nursing homes…

War on Police: Fact or Fiction? - The Informer

The media’s concept of an increase in police killings is fabricated, because it is not based in factual evidence. The narrative has been used to advocate state-sanctioned murder by police officers against perceived threats to the law enforcement community. Police supporters are forced to engage in the conversation by detailing the reasons why police officers should be respected and protected, while they often ignore the growing evidence that police brutality is actually at the highest point in American history.

Despite what major media outlets, politicians, and some law enforcement officials would have you believe, violence against police officers in 2015 has been the lowest in 20 years. In fact, fewer police officers have died on the job under Barack Obama’s administration than during Ronald Reagan’s pres…
