No printing or drawing experience necessary and you can trace your design from a reference or freehand draw, it's up to you!

Our latest episode has just been released into theaters, er, I mean onto your favorite podcast platforms. Inspired by the summer of Barbenheimer, we look at popular films that have been accused of inspiring real life crimes based on their fictional mayhem.

New episode of Disturbing Interests is live! This one made both your hosts say WOW a lot. Wow, as in that is one big bang! And wow as in how is this the first we'd heard of such a massive event on the scale of the Hindenburg or 9/11 disaster.

Our latest episode, and the last one of 2022, is out! We make a ton of announcements and tell you the squealingly strange tale of animal trials of the middle ages where critters were given the same court treatment as their human counterparts when accused of crimes against humanity. Plus a short bonus story about that one time in the Dark Ages where folks dug up a deceased pope and put his co**se on trial. Like you do. Extremely normal jurisprudence stuff. Plus it's Regina's birthday this week so wish her a happy and non-disturbing one!

Our latest episode, Law and Order: Special Piglets Unit, is out today and covers the very strange but very true practice of putting animals on trial for crimes against both individuals and humanity in the middle ages. Who knew "vermin process server" was a legit career path back in the day? We also have a big announcement: we're now members of the Darkcast Network, your one stop shop for all your creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky podcast needs!

For our Seattle listeners who enjoy making art, Lynn is teaching a weekend workshop in etching with chine collé at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. She swears it is fun and you will leave with the same number of fingers as you started with. And some cool new skills and some sweet prints you can hang up at home.

Chine collé is the technique of using an etching press to both print and collage onto your paper at the same time seamlessly, with one pass. Experiment with the range of effects that you can achieve by combining printed line art with cut paper.  In this two-day workshop, you will create a copper e...

Our podcast has a new podcat intern. Sadly, old man Jones has left his earthly existence but his heir, Mazikeen, will be assisting Moxie at Lynn's house to record and edit episodes. Honestly, is a podcast even a podcast if pets or children or partners or roommates don't end up accidentally in the recording somehow?

Working hard on our next episode, A Tale of Two Peepees, which we will be recording this weekend! Two similar legendary crimes and two completely different cultural reactions to them. Any guesses on which true crime cases we are covering in our next episode?

03/02/2022

Our newest episode drops next Monday! It's been recorded and we're working to get it edited. It's going out next week instead of this one due to cat drama. Kaesu has an ulcerated cornea and had a bad reaction to her antibiotics resulting in days of complete and total barf-a-rama around the house. Nothing says "wakey wakey" quite like a cat making "ooga chucka" noises on top of your sleeping body at 4AM. The good news is that Kaesu's eye is responding well so far to topical antibiotics and her tummy should quiet down over the next few days as the offending medicine clears her system. We got our yearly WTF N@zis episode out of the way early for the 2022 season and it's a well reported doozy by Regina with a short extra story by Lynn at the end and a truly epic Tale of Barry to start with. (Basically, don't let him get bored on vacation because he befriends the local wildlife and then things get really weird from there.) See you on Monday!

We're BAAAAAAACK! Our first episode of the new year features a travelogue for the worst national park in Canada: the Valley of the Headless Men. And we have the story of France's most prolific serial killer (allegedly) who was also the Andrew Lloyd Weber of his day.

Our latest episode is up now and it's part one of a two part deep dive (see what we did there) into everyone's favorite summer blockbuster, JAWS! In part one, Regina reports on the real life shark attacks at the Jersey shore that inspired Peter Benchley to write the novel on which the movie was based and Lynn tells the terrible true story of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis which led to the largest number of humans encountering sharks at one time in recorded history. Spoiler alert: it did not go so well for the humans.

It's a new episode and a double header to boot, with two shorter but no less bizarre and disturbing stories of mayhem in the most unlikely places: an 1849 performance of Shakespeare in Manhattan and at the 1904 Olympic marathon in St. Louis. Nationalism and class tensions rise and sheep carcasses fly during a performance of The Scottish Play in Regina's story and Lynn will tell you all about how stolen peaches and a strychnine and egg white omelet are the breakfast of champions. New episode is available wherever you like to listen to your podcasts.

The Dumbbell Murders electrified the media in the 1920s (literally, with a reporter sneaking in a camera to the viewing area of the electric chair where Ruth met her end). Find out why in our newest episode.

This is pretty much the entire premise of our podcast. New episode next Monday on two of the stupidest murderers ever.
