Significant and historical recordings that will be preserved in the NATIONAL RECORDING REGISTRY at the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.

TODAY and next week I'll be going over the complete list chronologically and making stops along the way. I'll be featuring a handful of singles and tracking 4 LP's in their entirety.

Singer/songwriter RANDY SPARKS passed away 2/11 at the age of 90.

SPARKS founded both the NEW CHRISTY MINSTRELS and the BACK PORCH MAJORITY.

Folk/pop large-ensemble groups that launched a number of careers, especially throughout the 1960's.
