Unclear on concept: Arrive at the Glen Ellen Fast Charger to find a Bolt parked in that spot using the L2 from the lane to the left. No room for me. :(

studio 1529 | despite its challenges, 2020 was a breakthrough year for studio 1529. I’m very grateful for the commercial work that came my way during the year and look forward to more. With essentially no face to face tastings, the camera took on the role of tapping into the energy of the people who made the wine that would be showing up over the next few weeks. Somebody challenged me to update this page so am adding in some of the latest images from the upcoming Willamette Valley Report, shot at the architectural gem, TheQubePDX last October.

This was by far my shortest appointment in Hillsboro, just two wines. Yet they and Jared Etzel made a great impression.

Thank you Doug Wilder from the Purely domestic wine report for reviewing our 2016 Iron Filbert Pinot Noir - 96 points: the nose is wild cherry and spice with hints of licorice, caramel, piecrust and blackberry. The palate is a lush polished blackberry, floral lilac and deep shadings of red fruits and well-integrated acidity. Drink 2017 – 2028.

Coming up later this week, a 15 year vertical of Dyer Cabernet Sauvignon that will just sneak in to volume 2.3 of pdwr. Stay tuned.

04/23/2013

After finishing answering some interview questions tonight, I will begin writing volume 2.3 and hopefully have it out in a couple weeks. Primarily Oregon and Washington plus new releases from Luc Morlet.

Are you beginning to scope out your holiday gift giving? Wine is great to receive but the memory doesn't last long. Consider gifting a subscription to pdwr instead and receive gifts from us. Go to www.pdwr.co and see what I mean.

Any thoughts yet on the Winery Profiles added in issue six? Issue seven is likely close to being done. Thanks!

09/25/2012

Lest you think I have fallen off the face of the earth in the last month, never fear. Issue six will be live in about 10 days. Summer is not the best time to taste wines, I discovered, plus there were some 'life' distractions. Food for thought for issue twelve! Thanks for your patience and patronage for pdwr. The anniversary issue is going to be hot on the heels of six, don't blink!
