That time Sim Sadler and I attended the first MTV Awards. Sim and I were both nominated for editing ZZ Top’s “Legs.” Though we lost the editing contest to Herbie Hancock’s “RockIt,” “Legs” did win Best Group Video. 40 years ago.

Dan Aykroyd & Bette Midler co-hosted the inaugural event, where Herbie Hancock took home the most prizes & Madonna stole the show.
