I recently went to Maria Bonita Restaurant for lunch and was so happy with everything! Their Executive Chef Rafael Gonzalez is so talented. Their food is made in house and from scratch. I had the street tacos and the flavor was fantastic. If you like classic, their cheese enchiladas are soooo yum!

Let's talk Patty Melt. Wikipedia says the patty melt is like a cheeseburger but served with bread. Traditionally rye bread but often with Texas Toast. Also, most patty melts are topped with carmelized onions.
I've loved patty melts for a while now. In a pinch, the patty melt from Whataburger is pretty good but the best I've had recently have been from Benjies Munch and The Bread Box. I have to say they were tied for the best. Who else has a great patty melt?

I wanted to give a quick shoutout to the Hotel Indigo. It's on the Riverwalk about north of all the crowded tourist areas. Beverly and I stayed there on New Years Eve. The room was comfortable, and they have a nice restaurant/bar called Fresca, that met our needs. I particularly enjoyed walking along the Riverwalk on New Years morning. I've never walked that part of the river and I found some really pretty spots.

We had an opportunity to try family owned Freshest Ice Creams recently and we were so excited at how delicious everything was!
