Looking for a fun event to attend this SATURDAY? Check out the CAF Minnesota Wing's Spring Swing Big Band Hangar Dance tomorrow: June 8, 2024! 🕺💃

The Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing has been hosting the USO-style swing dances since the mid-1980s, and while the formal hasn't changed, it's an evening of fun. Music is provided by the Roseville Big Band, which transports everyone right back to the 1940s. The backdrop is the museum's aircraft and a beautiful hangar, made during WWII in preparation for the war. While I love all the airplanes they have, the B-25 "Miss Mitchell" is a personal favorite. If music and WWII airplanes weren't enough, there is also a free dance lesson at 7 pm from the amazing TC Swing! Terry and Cindy, the group's owners, have also been hosting the dance lesson for years, and the event wouldn't be complete without them.

In addition to music and dancing, there's an engine run-up with the B-25, vintage clothing contest, and food trucks! You won't want to miss it!

During the evening, get ready for an exciting Vintage Clothing contest. If vintage fashion is your passion, this is your chance to shine and bring your A-Game!

There's no need to worry about food before the event! Two amazing local food trucks will keep you fueled as you dance the night away. Enjoy K-TOWN STREET FOODS and Crystals Concessions until 11 p.m. Plus, they have a variety of drinks available, including beer, wine, cider, pop, and water.

If you still need to tour the CAF Museum, you're in for a treat. As I write this, new museum cases are being constructed, which you can see during the event. The CAF also has a great PX (gift shop) to get a souvenir, and as I mentioned earlier, you can see and take photos with most of their aircraft.

Last week, I talked about knowing your target audience. Once you have that established, it's important to foster meaningful conversations with your audience. How do you do that?

One effective way to engage with your audience is by responding (promptly) to their comments, messages, and mentions. This not only shows your attentiveness but also encourages further interaction. Additionally, asking questions, running polls, and promoting user-generated content can significantly boost engagement.

Are you worried about posting EVERY day on social media? 😬 I can tell you right now - don't! Think more about the quality of the content you're posting rather than the quantity. Just because you post six times a week doesn't mean you're putting out good information that your audience will enjoy.

Even if you only post one time per week (I recommend at least three times), provide quality content to ensure that your audience gets value from following your social media accounts.
