Artist Talk Mental Health and Steel Smiling Host Upcoming "Black Therapy 101: A Panel Discussion on Mental Health Awareness"

Pittsburgh, PA— Artist Talk Mental Health, in collaboration with Steel Smiling, is proud to present "Black Therapy 101," a comprehensive panel discussion dedicated to mental health awareness within the Black community. This event aims to shed light on critical mental health issues and provide valuable resources and support.

This engaging and informative panel discussion will feature five prominent Black mental health professionals who will explore various pathways for healing available to Black residents of Pittsburgh.

"Art and creative expression are powerful tools for healing,” says Sydney Davis, Founder & CEO of Artist Talk. “Our programs provide a safe space for individuals to explore their mental health journey through artistic means."

The event will highlight the importance of therapy and community-based education and support programs such as Artist Talk’s Therapeutic Spaces and Steel Smiling’s Beams to Bridges program.

An engaging and informative panel discussion, moderated by Courtney Abegunde, Operations Director for Steel Smiling, will include the following:

The event will feature a variety of discussions focused on breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in the Black community, sharing personal experiences, and highlighting pathways to healing and wellness.
