It has been a LONG time since I have done a “Meet Me Monday” so I thought now would be good.

1.My name is John Vaughan and I started Story Focused Media in 2017

2. I have been married to my amazing wife Carmen for 25 years and I have a wonderful 13 year old son.

3. My first career was as a commercial insurance agent. I worked at that for 15 years before I realized that is not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

4. I am an old school super nerd (before it was kinda cool). Into all things Star Wars, comic books, video games and 80’s pop culture.

5. I have always had a creative side and have expressed that through drawing, writing, photography and filmmaking.

6. I get really excited about helping people tell their stories through video. I love my job because it allows me to be creative and help other people at the same time.

I started Story Focused Media in 2017. That year my wife gave me a camera ornament commemorating that event. It’s a great feeling every year when I see that ornament and see how far we’ve come and her support along the way. With Thanksgiving approaching we thought it was a good time to share a video we made of The Blessing of the Hounds back in 2018. The Blessing of the Hounds on Thanksgiving morning is an annual tradition that has taken place in Southern Pines for more than 100 years.
