"Zero tolerance for useless drug dealers is the name of the game here in this county," stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno. "If you think for a second you're going to push poison on our streets and ruin lives for a profit, you're sadly mistaken. My family members and I have shown you countless times that you WILL get caught, and answer for your shameful behavior."

On October 18th, the Lee County Sheriffโ€™s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant in the 2600 block of 58th St W in Lehigh Acres following a month long undercover investigation.

The investigation revealed the suspect, Timothy Grubbs (5/29/1989), was dealing narcotics out of his home.

During the search warrant, narcotics detectives located a large safe in Grubbs bedroom containing:

๐ŸŒŸ 9 MM Pistol

๐ŸŒŸ AR9 Firearm

๐ŸŒŸ Multiple bullets & gun magazines

๐ŸŒŸ 302.5 grams of Co***ne

๐ŸŒŸ 6 grams of Oxycodone

Grubbs was arrested and charged with three counts of trafficking co***ne, possession of a controlled substance, and various additional narcotic related charges.

Although Grubbs has no criminal history in Lee County, he learned quickly dealing deadly poison on our streets will get him a free stay at the Marceno Motel.

Due to the efforts put forth by our Narcotics Division, dangerous drugs and guns have now been removed from another low life individual taking up space in Lee County. Enjoy your accommodations, Mr. Grubbs!

Lee County Sheriff's Office Press Release: Lehigh Canine Shooter in Custody

On August 15, 2018, Lee County Sheriffโ€™s Office deputies responded to a call for service regarding the shooting of a dog in Lehigh Acres.

Deputies arrived on the 700 block of Longbow Lane and found the dog hiding in a wooded area.

A resident indicated that he observed the wounded dog swimming across a canal, behind his home, trying to flee from the shooter.

Described as a male between the ages of 25 and 35, the shooter quickly left the scene.

The frightened dog sought safe shelter in a wooded section of the property and deputies spent significant time calming the animal and coaxing him out into a clearing. Once trust was established, the wounded dog limped out to meet deputies.

Neighbors brought a towel and it was utilized to carry the dog to the roadside and an awaiting Lee County Domestic Animal Services vehicle.

Despite being struck twice and thanks to the incredible care provided by Domestic Animal Services, the three-year-old dog survived. She is currently thriving at Big Hearts for Big Dogs Rescue.

During the course of the investigation, East District Criminal Investigations Division detectives positively identified Derrick Lee Vasquez (W/M DOB 01/16/1984) as the shooter.

On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, Lee County Sheriffโ€™s Office deputies arrested Vasquez at his home at 3213 13th Street in Lehigh Acres.

Charged with Causing Cruelty/Pain and Suffering to an Animal, Vasquez is in the custody of the Lee County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

โ€œUnder no circumstances will any form of animal abuse be tolerated,โ€ stated Undersheriff Carmine Marceno. โ€œThis incident kept me up at night and I couldnโ€™t be happier knowing that this individual is in jail where he belongs.โ€
