Founded in 1965, ATP publishes norm-referenced assessments primarily for grades K-12 that are used by speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists.

Academic Therapy Publications is 55 Years Old! (1965 – 2020)
This ‘editorial comment’ appeared in a 1966 issue of Academic Therapy Quarterly, a journal dedicated to disseminating information about learning disabilities. ATP still hears from parents, teachers, and special education professionals who subscribed to it in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. ATP founder and editor of the journal, John Arena, was a regular classroom teacher and educational therapist who also ran a school for students with learning disabilities in the 1970s. Today, ATP continues to build upon the foundation that he started in 1965.

Structured Observations of Sensory Integration – Motor
The SOSI-M is a NEW standardized assessment for ages 5 through 14 that includes fourteen sets of items that provide diagnostic information to assist a clinician in understanding a child’s motor planning and postural control as they relate to vestibular and proprioceptive functioning. It’s companion, the Comprehensive Observations of Proprioception–Revised (COP-R) is an observation tool that provides information about the motor and behavioral skills linked to proprioceptive processing.

Glaspey Dynamic Assessment of Phonology
The GDAP provides a more sensitive measure of speech production and stimulability by using a unique standardized decision matrix to determine progression of prompts and cues. Receptive, Expressive, and Social Communication Assessment – Elementary
The RESCA-E combines standardized tests with informal observation across different settings to give a more complete picture of a child's communication skills. It targets critical areas of language development which are often included in IEPs and treatment plans but are difficult or impossible to objectively measure with existing tests for the elementary-age population. The RESCA-E has 14 components, organized into three cores. Subtests can be selectively utilized to target specific skill areas.
