Rain Or Shine; High Water Festival Never Stopped!

On April 20-21, 2024, High Water Festival returned to North Charleston, South Carolina, at the Riverfront for another year of bringing amazing music to the area! This was my first time attending the High Water Festival and my first festival event! I decided a few months ago that I wanted to diversify myself into different genres of music because I mostly cover press for metal music, so I wanted to give this festival a chance. The weekend weather was a wild ride between the first day being in the high 90s and the next day the rain coming and taking away all the wonderful warmth. But this didn’t deter High Water Festival from delivering a wonderful weekend filled with unforgettable music and memories.

As the night unfolded, Worry Club took the stage, a group of youthful insurgents armed with guitars and angst. Their sound, reminiscent of Atlanta juggernauts Microwave, reverberated through the cramped confines of The Shelter with an intensity that belies their tender years. The singer, a kinetic force of nature, commanded the stage with a fervor usually reserved for seasoned veterans. Each chord struck like a thunderbolt, electrifying the audience and igniting a fervent desire in me to join in the chorus, despite the unfamiliarity of the lyrics. Worry Club performs with the swagger of headliners, leaving an indelible mark on the evening’s proceedings and planting the seeds of anticipation for their inevitable ascent.

As their first release of the new year, “Disease” is a compelling track that exemplifies the band’s signature nu-core sound. Hailing from Rochester, New York, Perspectives combines elements of deathcore, nu-metal, metalcore, and hardcore to create a powerful, high-energy sound. A Night with Legends: The Black Crowes’ Encore with Aerosmith’s Icon

On a night that London won’t soon forget, the electrifying Happiness Bastards Tour, headlined by The Black Crowes, made its grand entrance. “All My Friends” Tour Comes to Myrtle Beach!

Finally, it was time for Asking Alexandria to take the stage! Honestly, the last time I had seen Asking Alexandria was in 2011 at Vans Warped Tour. Wow, that was 13 years ago. I can’t believe I waited this long to see this band again, a band that basically shaped my music taste when I was a teenager. I became a fan in 2009 when they released “Stand Up And Scream.” Each song off that album is currently on repeat on my Spotify because there isn’t one bad song. Asking Alexandria released their EP “Dark Void” in the beginning of the year with “Dark Void” and “Nothing Left” having 15 million Spotify plays between both songs! The band consists of Danny Worsnop (Vocals), James Casselles (Drums), Cameron Liddell (Rhythm Guitar), Sam Bettley (Bass), and touring fill in guitar player Paul Bartolome. Ben Bruce recently departed from the band to focus on his family life
