Founded in New York in 1991, Weekly Bangalee is a Bangla language newspaper committed to publishing insightful news about the Bangladeshi community in New York, around the United States, and all over the world. A little bit of history:
In 1991, the first print copy was available at newsstands throughout NYC (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Staten Island). That same year, we started mailing
print copies to subscribers around the United States and in Canada. In 1996, the cost of Weekly Bangalee changed to 75¢, and in 1998: $1. Our readership grew. In 2011, we launched our social media platforms, connecting us to readers around the world. On June 1, 2014, our print copy became available free of charge at newsstands around NYC. This has been received positively by our local readers who prefer to read Weekly Bangalee the traditional way. Our office has been headquartered in Elmhurst, New York since 1991. We attend NYC events every day of the week and report on them. Weekly Bangalee is published every Saturday. We are dedicated to intelligent journalism and love what we do. Thank you for 28 years of support, readers.
