We've never been fans of guys named Sean. They always seemed to be nice boys, but then grew into big meanies in middle school.

Here's Tropical Depression Sean's current forecast. Not much intensity just yet, but like we said above...

BUT GOOD NEWS FOLKS: Both of these are going to begin turning NNE in the next couple days. Thank you!

Great news coming in from the Atlantic Hurricane Tracker: It looks like what we thought would be an east-coast-threatening storm by mid-week will indeed become a large hurricane, but will turn sharply north Tuesday morning, staying well east of Bermuda.

So for now, we can say with happiness: ALL'S QUIET IN THE ATLANTIC!

Enjoy the sunny weekend down there on the coast, everyone!

Goodbye and good riddance, Mr. Lee! You gave us a good scare, but thank you for staying out in the Atlantic and leaving the North East with mainly high winds and heavy rain. Parts of Maine and Nova Scotia are seeing some damage, but it looks like we'll be through this one soon.

Now all at once: GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE, LEE!

Now that Lee has made a turn NNW, we need to start paying attention to a new disturbance AL97 that is expected to form into a Tropical Depression in the next 24-48 hours. It's too early to get a sense of it's likely track, but it's moving at 14mph west-northwestward. And it's current track is a bit south of what we saw with Hurricane Lee, so we'll definitely be keeping a close eye on this one.

Some great news out of the Atlantic! Current models almost universally have Lee taking a direct turn northward on Tuesday morning. It looks like we'll miss this one thank God. We'll keep everyone updated if conditions change.

Meanwhile, we're monitoring the west coast of Africa very closely as a new storm seems to be forming.

Ever wonder what the Hurricane Hunters see when they fly through the eyewall of a big hurricane? Well, here's what Lee looked like yesterday directly in the eye!

Truly looks like a "act of God" type thing given how massive and wild this thing is.

Friday 2pm Update: Hurricane Lee continues to gain strength as it's now a Cat 3 with >110 mph of sustained winds. While most models still have it turning northward Thurday morning, we should be prepared for everything. This guy is a monster!!! And we never know what they really will end updoin.

Thursday Afternoon Update: Hurricane Lee has bubbled up to a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 110mph. We continue to predict this will become a strong 4 or 5 by Sunday afternoon.

Current models still forecast the storm to turn N or NW by Thursday, but as the pressure drops in the storm, the greater the likelihood tht it will overpower the low-pressure trough coming off the east cost.

BE SAFE EVERYONE.

Here's an update on Big Boy Lee. Hurricane hunter planes are preparing to head into the storm later today as it continues to move WNW at 14mph. Current max sustained wind speed is 70mph, so Lee will likely hit be upgraded to a hurricane mid-afternoon. Pressure is dropping faster than expected, and as a result, the forecasted track after Saturday has drifted southward. Not a good thing!!!

We'll keep an eye on things and update here as we know more. This is looking like it's going to grow into a Cat 5.

Hit "Share" to pass on the update and be sure to tag your friends or relatives in Florida and the southeast.

General rule of thumb: If the Tropical Storm looks like a 🍤, it's about to begin growing very very fast.

Some slightly better news about what will soon be Hurricane Lee. This one is expected to become a Cat 4 with 145mph+ winds by Sunday, but thankfully a trough over the southeast is currently expected to push the storm due north about 500 miles east of Florida.

STAY AWAY LEE.

No good news out in the warm tropical waters to the east. Tropical Storm Lee is forecast to become a Category 4+ hurricane by this weekend. This one has an ominous feel to it, but nearly all models have it taking a sharp turn north about 500 miles east of Florida. We're praying those are right!

We'll keep everyone updated as we get the latest on the storm's track.

There's a new tropical wave to keep an eye on off the coast of Africa. This one is AL95 and is about 300 miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. At the moment, it will likely become a tropical depression in 48 hours, and then will strengthen as it moves west-northwestward at 15-20 mph.

We certainly don't like the looks of this one.

No way, Jose! You stay waaaay out there!

Meanwhile, a new disturbance has developed off the coast of Africa and is gaining strength just west of the Cape Verde islands. At this point, there's an 80% chance it forms into a cyclone.

We'll do our part and keep everyone updated. For now, we rest.
