- Farthest east a hurricane has formed in June.
- Earliest category 4 to form and only category 4 to form in June.
- Earliest category 5 hurricane to form.

After forming 10 days ago, Hurricane Beryl has made its final landfall near Matagorda, Texas with winds gusting near 100 mph.

Houston will be in the worst part of the storm this morning. Winds over 80 mph and flooding are expected there.
