Brink: A Review of Books

Brink: A Review of Books A journal for young writers to think through the world we are about to inherit. We are on the brink. Our climate will soon change in devastating ways.
(2)

Our world has grown wary of democracy, of globalism, of progress and diversity. And our millennial generation has only now begun to realize how much we need to fight for. We need to confront our moment head-on, but we must first understand what is happening to the world around us. We need a forum where we can think carefully and engage with others. That is what Brink Review will offer. Founded in

the spring of 2017, Brink unites the highest editorial standards with the highest intellectual expectations—a combination of literary skill and earnest ambition in the face of daunting problems. Our generation has been hesitant to engage in a venture of this kind. Very little of the writing that students do outside the classroom is both rigorous and argumentative, and very little inside the classroom is accessible to those outside it. Brink will publish three issues per year on a panoply of topics, from climate change to changing monuments, the tsarism to Trumpism, contemporary literature to modern cinema. Contributors will be selected by the editorial team with assistance from Yale University professors in the relevant field. Writers will be encouraged to range broadly on their topics. The only requirement is that they write and argue well.
