Will Margaritis, SVP of Global Commerce Solutions at Reprise Commerce, made his way to NewFronts to see what Amazon has in store for its media offering.

Amidst an economic downturn, Amazon placed heavy emphasis on FreeVee, its free ad-supported TV (FAST) offering.

Content once gated behind a paywall, without ads, will now be something advertisers can buy space in.

That means millions of hours of eyeballs are going to be available to advertisers, and another commerce media stream is hitting the market.

AliExpress certainly think so as they continue their fight to establish Singles’ Day as a major shopping day in the US, utilizing a host of micro-influencer brand ambassadors to make finding a deal fun.

📣 In Q1 of 2022, COVID shutdowns and freight delays caused a global supply chain crisis.

For Rogaine®, this resulted in setbacks in production for their best-selling product: Men's Rogaine Foam with 5% Minoxidil.

💡 At the risk of losing market share and revenue, Reprise Commerce was tasked with driving revenue growth on behalf of Rogaine.

Rogaine and Reprise Commerce chose to pivot their focus and eCommerce strategy to spotlight their available items: the Rogaine for Women collection.

Our approach:

🔶 We reviewed which products in the Rogaine catalog had an abundance of inventory to support retail media initiatives.

️🔶 Identified multiple Rogaine for Women SKUs that allowed for a long-term sell-through with a corresponding media push.

️🔶 Launched new campaigns and expanded pre-existing campaigns to drive revenue from Rogaine for Women product purchases.

🔶 Implemented Sponsored Product, Sponsored Brand, and Sponsored Brand Video placements on Amazon’s owned & operated sites.

The result?

🚀 Rogaine for Women experienced 52% growth in total sales for Q2 2022 vs. Q2 2021.

🎯 Amazon Advertising attributed revenue for Rogaine for Women jumped by 186% for the same period.

Have you nailed your Retail Media Network strategy for Black Friday?

🌎 Black Friday has evolved from a claustrophobic in-store shopping experience in the US – with skirmishes over widescreen TVs beamed around the world– to a global shopping phenomenon.

🛒 Already a hot topic of conversation, Retail Media Networks can offer brands huge uplift in traffic over the Black Friday period.

Will Margaritis gave us his 5 top tips for brands looking to maximize their ROAS and revenue on one of the biggest commerce events in the calendar:

💘 Brands need to spread the love on Black Friday when it comes to Retail Media Networks. Huge uplifts in traffic occur on almost every retail platform, and brand loyalty goes out the window.

📣 Make use of affiliates. Consumers will be logging on to websites like slickdeals, receiving newsletters, visiting their favorite blogger, or watching recommendations from influencers on YouTube and Instagram. Affiliates and influencers can help brands to get ahead of the noise.

❌ Don’t waste time with products that aren’t on sale. Consumers are deal hunting on Black Friday, so conversions will likely be poor for media that's driving to non-discounted products.

💻 Make the most of sponsored display. While the rates are skyrocketing on all the other Amazon placements, Sponsored Display offers great value.
