We have VERY exciting news to share! Joanie's Place (a program of Balanced Learning Center) has now partnered with the Family Resource Center (FRC) & Greater Fall River RE-CREATION to bring you Joanie's Safe Space - a community room available to all LGBTQ+ people in Greater Fall River.

Joanie's Place has been and always will be rooted in community. With this in mind, we are asking LGBTQ+ artists in Greater Fall River to help us commemorate the space by painting it with us! On Tuesday, October 11th at 5PM we will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony & then be inviting folks to help us create a mural for our Gender Affirming Closet. Abolition Row Walking Tour

September 24 at 1:00pm

Meet at the corner of Union Street and Seventh Street.

Take a FREE tour of the structures and people in connection to the story of abolitionism in New Bedford. The tour will end at the Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum for light refreshments. The tour guide is Jan Da Silva member of the Board of Directors of the New Bedford Preservation Society. Ms. Da Silva is the Program Manager, Visitor Experience and Resource Stewardship for New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park.
