Early summer moments that bring me joy

Here's a few photos I've taken throughout the past couple of months that make me smile. Life in TN is really starting to blossom for me, and I'm making new friends and enjoying new experiences all the time.

It's such a privilege to be involved in the music scene here, the community of other classical musicians in Nashville are all so kind, and getting to be surrounded by lush greenery is so healing.

Hi, everyone!

I hope your day's been going well, let's talk about opera in a casual environment.

You may know I'm ✨ heavily ✨ involved in opera in the Nashville area, and I do a lot of outreach in different, non-conventional spaces (i.e., the zoo, farmer's markets, an observatory, etc.)

So, let's talk about a non-profit that aims to expose more young audiences to opera: Opera on Tap!

Opera on Tap (OOT) is a global organization that pops up in bars & restaurants to give short performances with your local opera singers. There are TONS of chapters, so if you're not in Nashville, that's okay! check online to see if there's a chapter near you 🥰

If you're looking for something fun to do that doesn't cost a lot, but you and your friends can get cute & show up to, maybe check it out!

Would you listen to opera in a brewery?

I didn't know what to expect wandering Broadway in the evening on Wednesday, whether there would be large crowds & lots of energy or no people at all. I found some of both, but a big highlight of my evening was watching put on an incredible show at .

I love photography.

It allows me to capture memories of people and objects stuck in time, and remember them as they were.

My favorite things to photograph are plants and people. Seeing a smile, building a scene for a person, finding a beautifully red berry on a hike.

Good morning, everyone!

It's been a bit since I've posted on here, but I assure you I'm doing well! I've been quite busy preparing for the Nashville Opera 's Opera on Wheels tour, so I unfortunately haven't had the time to hike or post.

WITH THAT BEING SAID, now that we're in the swing of things, I can't wait to show you my adventures! OOW travels all around middle TN, so I've been able to catch some really cool festivities.

For now? Enjoy some pictures of the house's cats, but stay tuned for some fun new content!

Stills from my Standing Stone solo Hike

I am so pleased with this hike. It was the hardest hike I've ever done, and I finished it by myself. I made sure to do this on one of our last cold days, so there weren't snakes running around. The whole afternoon was shrouded in these beautiful, quiet clouds that gave the whole hike an ethereal, dusk-like atmosphere.

You find it everywhere...

When you least expect it, it's in a stone. It's carved, immortalizing someone's feelings for a very long time.

It's an aptly-shaped pebble, shaped by time for you to chuckle to yourself about.

It's a flower, whose petals are shaped juuuuust right.

Little moments to remind you of those you care for. To make you smile, to make your day a bit brighter.

Some highlights of Red River Gorge a few weeks ago. A lot of people want wide, scenic landscapes, but I'm not really that kind of photographer. I really enjoy looking at those kinds of views (and sharing them with you via reels!), but my heart is with the smaller treasures. Nature doing what it does best; a flower blooming, the way moss reaches for the sun, the ripples-like waves- in Rock formations. Let's celebrate the little moments too, hm?

Long Hunter State Park, March '24

Loved the rainy day I got to explore the shoreline trail/ picnic area. The entire atmosphere was so moody, it was such a pleasure to be able to enjoy the peace that the day and park brought.

Harpeth River State Park, TN

Stunning little treasures on the trails of Harpeth River. It was a gorgeous day, and since we were already around Nashville for the day, we decided to take a little detour out to hike to the Hidden Lake.

Window Cliffs Stills

Here are the stills from our hike at Window Cliffs! While it was a bit of a challenge (stream crossings are slippery 😖) I'm so proud that we made it! It was such a beautiful hike, and while it'll be a bit before I attempt another hike like this, I'm so glad I did.

Twin Falls & Old Stone Fort, pt. 1

Visiting state parks in February in a place where the leaves fall might not seem like the greenest experience, but finding little treasures in the winter forests sure is incredible. Last weekend I had the magical experience of being able to hike these two parks back to back, and it was an awesome time.

So much happened during 25, I am so utterly different . My life, simple pleasures, and daily annoyances all were uprooted last year with very little notice, and it's caused me to go into a kind of tailspin. I can't say that I'm fully recovered-some days are definitely better than others-but slowly I am able to start stepping forward again.

I have begun to truly take time to reflect on and appreciate the support system that is there for me, who is so frequently too stubborn to ask for help. You mean so much more than I could ever convey, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping pick me up when I don't even know I've fallen.

25 was...well. it WAS.
