The performing Arts Department have been working tirelessly to bring you a plethora of entertainment options this March. Come see, hear, and experience the creativity and talent of our MHS tribe!
From March 1-3 we will have our Winter Performance of Mamma Mia! the musical in the Rezac auditorium. Theatre and musical lovers can delight with the familiar tunes of ABBA while appreciating the fantastic storyline. Tickets can be bought the day of each performance and cost $8 ($6 if you bring in a canned food item per ticket). The showtimes are as follows:
March 1- 7 PM
March 2- 2PM & 7PM
March 3- 2PM

Delight your ears with the melodies of our MHS band concert on March 5 in the Rezac auditorium at 7 PM. This event showcases both the talent and hard work our band students have put in every day.
Another event that would be both a great opportunity to appreciate the arts and provide a musical respite from the busy world is the string day workshop & orchestra concert on March 30 @ 3 PM in the Rezac auditorium.

The Lady Indians are headed to state! They upset #3 seeded Liberal 45-39 on the road. The state berth marks their first in 6 years! The Lady Indians will travel to Wichita State University’s Koch Arena next weekend for the state tournament.

Earlier this month, our newspaper, yearbook and video production students participated in the Kansas Scholastic Press Association’s regional contest. Competition events covered various media disciplines from writing to design and video. In total, MHS Student Media qualified 29 entries for the state competition!

Girls Basketball defeated Topeka High 62-43 in the first round of Sub-State. They will compete for a Sub-State championship and state tournament berth this Friday at Liberal High School.

The 2022 Blue M is here! Books will be distributed during Central Enrollment at MHS West campus on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. The remaining extras are on sale at www.YearbookOrderCenter.com using school code 10905 -- get yours before they sell out!

Manhattan High Vaccination Clinic

Starting this next Wednesday during Advisory, Manhattan High is partnering with the Riley County Health Department to offer an optional vaccination clinic in the MHS Alumni Conference room! Students and staff 12 years of age or older can participate in the clinic, where the Pfizer vaccine will be available. On Monday, Aug. 23, the Pfizer vaccine was officially fully FDA approved for those 16 and older. The vaccine is currently still in the emergency approved phase for those 12-15 years old. A second clinic will be hosted during Advisory on Sept. 22. If an individual would like to receive their second dose at the first vaccination clinic on Sept. 1, they will need to bring in proof of their first vaccination! If you are interested in participating, look for a [email protected] email titled "Optional COVID Vaccine Clinic at MHS West-for students and employees" sent on Thursday, Aug. 26 to obtain the required paperwork that will need to be filled out and signed before the vaccine can be administered.
