So, it’s back-to-school time, huh? If you’re feeling like your world just went from 0 to 100 in about five seconds, you’re not the only one. Where did summer go??? 

The mad dash for school supplies, the new routines, and trying to remember ALL the dates—it’s kind of like drinking straight from a firehouse. 

But –  remember now more than is ever to give yourself the space to breathe, to feel that mix of stress, excitement, and maybe even a little dread too. Because guess what? That’s totally normal, ! 

We’ve ALL been there, and we’ll all get through it, one school day at a time. Focus on the essentials—full bellies, packed lunches, and everyone walking out the door (even if one of those doors slams). It’s okay if the first few mornings are a bit rough around the edges. The key is to stay flexible and keep your cool. You’ll all find your rhythm soon enough, and until then, take it one step, one deep breath at a time.

The pressure to perform can be overwhelming, but as athletes like Tara Davis-Woodhall have shown, it’s essential to prioritize mental health. Her story of overcoming darkness to find light is a powerful reminder that we are ALL human first, athlete second. 🌈

Mental health struggles don’t discriminate, and acknowledging them is the FIRST step toward healing.

Our hope is that we can continue to normalize the conversation around mental health and support each other in finding balance AND peace.

Olympians like Gabby Thomas show us that behind every medal is a HUMAN being with raw struggles and real triumphs. The journey to the Olympics is about mental resilience as much as physical capabilities.

Where society more often than not glorifies physical achievements first, we must recognize and support the mental battles athletes face. Mental health is NOT a destination but a lifelong journey, and it's absolutely okay to seek help along the way.

We’re ALL [so much] more than our accomplishments. Behind every success, there’s a story of struggle and perseverance. In sports, the spotlight often hides the struggles athletes face behind the scenes. The recent focus on mental health, thanks to brave voices like Simone Biles, has brought much-needed attention to the issue. Her courage to speak up (even on the world-wide stage) reminds us ALL that mental health is just as important as physical health. [Mental 👏🏻 Health 👏🏻 Matters! 👏🏻]

As we cheer for our athletes medal worthy performances, let’s also cheer for their BRAVERY in prioritizing their mental well-being when the pressure is weighing on their shoulders.

And, let this be the reminder you need that it’s okay to not be okay. Asking for help is a sign of strength, never weakness.

We often convince ourselves that happiness is just around the corner, waiting for us to reach the happiness finish line. But, life is happening all around us in this very moment. Just look around, ! The sun is shining, people are living, breathing, healing, and flowers are blooming! THAT is worth celebrating!

Hit the brakes and STOP delaying your happiness for an uncertain future. It’s 100% not worth the gamble!

Instead, look for joy in the small victories of your day like the simple pleasures like your morning coffee and a sweet dessert after dinner. Romanticize life because you CAN and because you CHOOSE to.

Eleanor said it best.

How often do you find yourself saying, "I'll be happy when..."? When the kids are older, when I get that dream job, or when I finally pay off my debt.

But, here's a reality : there's ALWAYS going to be another "when." Yep - It’s true. Life is a series of stages, each bringing its own set of highs and lows.

That means all that waiting around for the perfect moment really is just an illusion. In fact, waiting for the ‘right time’ to finally happen only leads to MORE waiting. ( !)

TRUE happiness comes from finding joy in the present, DESPITE what we see as imperfections. Get out there and dance like no one’s watching and live life to the fullest TODAY because tomorrow isn’t promised.

Happiness is NOT a future event - it’s a present CHOICE. So, what will you choose?

How long have you been waiting for the "perfect" moment to find what really makes you happy?

Society is really good at telling us that life will be sooo much better after we reach certain milestones like getting engaged, married, having kids, or buying that Barbie dream house with the white picket fence…

But we’ll let you in on a not-so-little secret. Are you ready for it?

There is NO perfect moment or time.

Life is beautifully chaotic, messy and FILLED with unexpected challenges. And that doesn’t have to a bad thing!! It’s what makes life, LIFE and it’s what makes our story - OUR story.

So, here’s your challenge for the week - Instead of postponing your joy for supposed ‘better days ahead’, embrace the imperfections and uncertainties of the HERE and NOW.

Life can seriously be so messy and complicated, but the happiness that pets bring is beautifully SIMPLE. It’s easy - and it’s refreshing!

They ground us, reminding us to take it one day at a time.

But, are there real health benefits? You bet there are!! Spending time with our fur babies can lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, and boost those 'feel-good' chemicals in our brains.

But beyond all that, there's this raw, unspoken bond that goes straight to our hearts.

They see us at our worst and love us anyway. And, that kind of acceptance is a powerful force for healing. 🐱💫

When we're out in the sun, our bodies produce more vitamin D, which is a natural mood booster. It helps reduce stress, improve our sleep, and even makes us feel happier overall. This time of year just brings its own unique flavor of nostalgia, doesn’t it?

Summer break isn’t always this big carefree escape our kids and teens have come to expect. Without the usual school schedule, some can struggle with feeling bored and even lonely.

As parents and guardians, it’s crucial to recognize and validate their emotions.

Try this instead - Introduce small daily goals or a summer bucket list filled with super simple pleasures—like making homemade popsicles, exploring a new-to-them local park, or having a movie marathon. Have them to reach out to friends or join local summer camps if that’s their jam.

It’s all about finding BALANCE between relaxation & activity, helping them see that every day holds potential for new adventures and friendships even when school isn’t in session. 🌻🏖️

Summer break can feel like a big ol’ empty space for kids missing their school buddies and daily rhythms. The lack of structure can feel totally overwhelming to them.

But here's the silver lining: this time of year can be an opportunity to create NEW connections and fun memories.

Take the time to organize some playdates, virtual hangouts, or even fun pen-pal letters with friends. (Yep, skip the texting technology and encourage them to put pen to paper while they bust out those creative art skills during the summer!)

Maybe even do a few creative projects that can span a few days, like building a fort or starting a veggie garden. These activities can help bridge the gap, giving kiddos something to look forward to AND a big sense of accomplishment.

This helps show them that every season has its own kind of magic, even if it looks a little different. 🌼✨

Summertime should be all sunshine, laughter, and sleeping in right, ? Well…not so fast.

Sometimes, our kiddos can come up feeling a bit lost in the long days without their usual routines and friends.

It's completely normal for them to feel those summertime blues.

Instead of just brushing it off as moodiness or ‘kids being kids’, acknowledge their emotional state and help them hold s-p-a-c-e for those feelings.

Try creating a NEW structure together with easy routines of morning walks, reading time, or even a fun weekly project that can bring back a sense of normalcy for them.

We can teach our kids that it’s 100% okay to feel happy AND sad (or just a little ‘off’) when routines change and we can empower them to look for JOY in those little pockets of life. 🌞💙

We've ALL been there. Days, weeks, months where nothing seems to go right, and the hits just keep coming. It’s easy to feel defeated. BUT we do have the ⚡️power ⚡️within us to flip the script.

These tough times are not just setbacks and deep valleys - they’re opportunities for growth, for learning, for TRUE transformation.

Lean into the struggle, feel every emotion, but DON’T LOSE SIGHT OF HOPE! These storms you’re weathering are shaping you into a more resilient, compassionate, and powerful version of yourself. Surround yourself with the right support system, practice self-kindness and grace, and keep your eyes on the horizon. The ☀️sun ☀️WILL shine again, and you’ll come out of this storm with a deeper appreciation for all that you’ve gone through.

The job you thought was secure crumbles, relationships you valued fall apart, and your mental health takes a nosedive. And you know what? It’s tempting to throw in the towel, to succumb to the chaos and let the wave crash over you.

BUT - let’s take a different approach - Acknowledge the mess, but DON’T EVER LET IT define you.

Find small pockets of peace in the storm. Reach out to those who care about you, indulge in self-care, and remember that THIS TOO SHALL PASS! [Our favorite life motto!]

Every tough season is temporary, and it’s in these moments of adversity that we discover our TRUE strength.

Stay hopeful, because every storm runs out of rain!!

You might look like you’ve got it all together, but we know that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

The load you’re carrying is seriously heavy, and it’s okay – more than okay – to admit it. In fact, it's crucial to let it out and speak your feelings into existence, ! Bottling it up only adds to the weight.

You don’t have to pretend everything’s perfect. It’s absolutely alright to say, “This is hard.” Acknowledging the difficulty is the first step to finding relief.

Reach out, share the weight, and remember, asking for help is NOT a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of strength and self-awareness.

Feeling burnt out? You’re not failing; you’re human. 

Pre-summer chaos is hitting hard right now, and it’s your body and mind’s way of saying, “Hey, I need a break!” 

Do NOT beat yourselves up for feeling this way. It’s a sign you need to slow down and take care of yourself. Listen to what your body (and your mind) is telling you! 

Pause and breathe. [rinse and repeat as often as necessary] You’re doing the best you can, and that’s more than enough. 🛑💙

PSA for all the parents giving it their all right now: The finish line is just around the corner, and I know it feels like you’re crawling towards it, completely spent.

But, being strong does NOT mean you’re NOT exhausted. You’ve been giving it everything you’ve got, and it’s perfectly okay to admit that you’re worn out. You’re waving that white flag and sending out an S.O.S. because this has been a tough stretch. 

Here’s the thing - you’re still showing up EVERY SINGLE DAY, pushing through the fatigue. That’s NO small feat. It’s a lot to handle. 

So, please, give yourself some grace. Take this as a a permission slip to rest, recharge, and celebrate your wins from the school year.

You’ve earned it and much-needed summer break is completely within reach. Hang in there!! You’ve got this!
