Description:
Gladiolus, often called "Glads," are elegant, tall flowering plants known for their impressive spikes of trumpet-shaped blooms. These flowers come in a wide range of colors, including red, pink, white, yellow, and orange, making them a striking addition to gardens and floral arrangements.
Light: Prefers full sun, needing at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth and blooming. They can tolerate some partial shade, especially in hotter climates.
Water: Keep soil consistently moist but well-drained. Water regularly during the growing season, particularly in dry periods, but avoid overwatering to prevent bulb rot.
Soil: Well-draining, sandy-loam soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.0) is ideal. Improve soil fertility by adding compost or well-rotted manure.
