* Until 1:30 AM EDT.

* At 9:17 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in the past hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Knoxville, Alcoa, Louisville, Rockford, Lake Forest, Seymour and Kimberlin Heights.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

* Until 845 PM EDT.

* At 754 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Wilkerson, or
14 miles southeast of Williamsburg, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Harrogate, Jellico, Cumberland Gap, Arthur, Clairfield, White Oak,
and Sharps Chapel.

This includes Interstate 75 in Tennessee between mile markers 158 and
161.

***A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN SULLIVAN,
SOUTHWESTERN JOHNSON, AND NORTHERN CARTER COUNTIES THROUGH 3:00 PM EDT***

At 2:19 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles south of Bristol, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Bristol, TN , Elizabethton, Bluff City, Hunter, Morril's Cave, Doeville, Neva, Sadie, and Elk Mills.

A strong storm system will move into the area on Tuesday, bringing the potential for severe weather. All modes of severe weather are possible, although damaging winds in excess of 60mph are the primary threat.

Timing at this time seems to be 4pm-10pm EDT Tuesday.

UPDATE: Our area has been highlighted for a heightened risk of severe weather for this coming Tuesday (4/2). At this time, it's too early to suggest what time of day and exactly what hazards will be possible with this system.
