If you were a well-bred, married woman, or in the church, you most certainly would've worn one during the 12th-14th centuries.

Without one, one would've assumed you were a maiden/single, or otherwise immodest.

I think, depending on the character or reenactment, they are so pretty.

It’s an interesting land, Facebook. Some days are worth it, because the community is amazing. Other days it’s just bizarre and frustrating. My algorithm is filled with random things, things that despite my telling it “I’m not interested” and hiding posts, will not show me anything different.

My posts sometimes end up in weird lands of people who don’t understand my page, are nasty and creepy, cruel or misogynistic in nature. Or I have imposter/bots trying to message my community in the comments, which doesn’t feel safe, for them or me.

Unfortunately, this platform has gone to the bots, and I don’t feel protected. It’s the tipping of the scale, comparing the pros to cons, that has me questioning whether or not I’ll continue.

I have a much more curated and comfortable feel on my instagram and YouTube, and TikTok is slowly feeling like Facebook for the above reasons, just not as bad yet.

All that to say, if I cut any of my platforms, Facebook will be the first to go. If you care to keep up with my posts, projects, theatrics, etc, you know where to find me.

Thanks to those who continue to stick it out and make my efforts worth while!

Beekeeping Update: (picture is for fun, I use modern hive boxes for the real thing)

The hive is so healthy!
(& protective of their progress)
They had just started checking out their honey super to start drawing comb there, but it’s time to treat for varroa mites, so I removed the super (the top box)
Treated the 1st and 2nd deeps with the
⚔️ (s)miticide ⚔️ strips,
but not before taking a spoon of honey from one of the frames for … quality assurance.

Let me tell you: I wasn’t going to say “the best honey ever” bc it was from my bees. But upon tasting after a 1-2-3 with Emma, we concluded that it was the BEST HONEY EVER.

Bright, floral, perfectly sweet. Oh. My. Gosh.

How do I get into character? Well since I have until October, I’m absolutely already getting into character, and one way is setting the tone around the home. Especially in places that I get ready, such as the bedroom, you’ll find trinkets, pictures, colors schemes, and these immersive candles . I know it sounds like an ad, but ask anyone who has visited me – they will attest ( lol see also: baroness-themed office, blacksmith-themed den)

I did check to see if these particular ones are still in stock. I know we have a lot of seafaring characters getting ready for the upcoming preparations, beach vacations and pirate cosplayers. These are, indeed, on sale, so check em out. I believe they also have sample packs, among many other scents.
