’im just a girl who loves a good vampire novel, Lofi jams, a lot of Christian R&B, and of course, Jesus! I am a senior this year, and I’m majoring in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in communications. I’m excited about this experience. It truly fell in my lap (listen to the show hear about it!). I am just like you. Making it day-by-day and trying to follow Jesus on the way! I am a wife, a mom, a friend, a sorority girl, and now a UHD IRadio Host!
Phi Sigma Tau, UHD’s Honor Society for Philosophy, presents their new show, The Thinking Room. The five hosts of the show are all executive board members of the honor society, hoping to start a new tradition for future officers of the chapter! The Thinking Room is said to be Phi Sigma Tau’s way of bringing extraordinary philosophical knowledge into the ordinary lives of students. Hard questions will be asked and easy answers will never be found, but the embodiment of philosophy will take place in the discussion and integration of perspectives that arises between the hosts. Exploration of concepts will take place not only in Western, contemporary contexts, but also in the contexts of different eras of history and regions of the world. The Thinking Room’s sole purpose for existence is not to provide all the answers, but to ask all the questions. Students who are interested in deeper-than-surface level trains of thought can find comfort in tuning into the Thinking Room and listening to what ancient and modern philosophers have to say. The Thinking Room exists in service for the students and encourages the search for knowledge. As the famous Socrates quote goes, “knowledge is our ultimate good.”
A little about me: I am a senior, and one of my favorite pastimes is to sit on the beach and watch the waves. But since I can only do that sometimes, I also love to paint. From canvas to furniture, I will paint it! I also have a cat; her name is Ripley. She is diabolically adorable. She’s named after the main character in the 1979 movie Alien. That’s another thing: I enjoy horror movies, creature features, found footage, paranormal, and so on. But most importantly, I love to laugh, especially at myself. I am way too goofy not to laugh.
This is going to be an exciting semester and hopefully, you guys tune in every Thursday at 2 p.m. for The Gator Experience. I want to talk about what it is like to be a gator at UHD and inform you about campus life. When I started my gator experience, I only knew a little and needed to figure out where to start.
