Happy October 1st! I don’t know where September went, but here we are. This month we are switching our focus to Dog Rescue. We will be rotating back to Equine in December. We feel that all rescues need to be highlighted.

We are starting October off with one close to my heart. We adopted our Reagan girl from here and I can’t imagine life without her. LabAdore Retrievers Rescue, Inc focuses on saving labs and lab mixes from high kill shelters. It doesn’t matter the dogs age or condition. They believe every dog deserves a chance. They are funded only by donations.

Check them out out and give them a like and follow. Every like, follow and share goes a long way to saving lives 💗💗💗🐶🐶🐶

This post is really touching and I felt worth the share and read. The rescue 1 Horse At A Time Draft Horse Rescue is out of Montana and works to pull drafts from auction before they hit the slaughter pipeline.

Give them a like, follow or donation if you are so inclined. But absolutely give this post a read.. it will touch your heart 💗

She has portrayed nothing but sadness since the day she arrived here and it only got worse when she gave birth to a stillborn four months ago🖤

Helping her cross the Rainbow Bridge today was a really hard thing to do, but I felt it was the only right thing left to do for this beautiful girl🖤

🖤FRANNY🖤

I can’t explain how very difficult it is to have a beautiful draft like Franny here, to look at her every day, and care for her every day and just having this feeling all along that I can’t help her. That she doesn’t want to be helped. That she’s ‘done’ and does not want to be here. And then she would lay down for hours at a time and just stare into space …. I just knew🖤

But sometimes it scares me so much to make a wrong decision, so I asked our Melody Laakso Art, Reiki Master, to communicate with Franny and here is what she said:

“When I first looked at Franny she felt very, very tired and very low energy and sad/depressed. She had a lot of energy leaking all around her girth area which I equated with her heart. Not her physical heart per se, but her emotional heart.

This is what she had to say:

“I am so tired. I don’t know where I am or why I am here. I have tried to be a good/great soul but humans have no use for me anymore. Why am I here on this planet? I can do so much more elsewhere. We horses are never fully appreciated for all the hard work we do. Some are, some horses are appreciated and loved but so many of us are just tools to be used and then when we get dull we are thrown away. I know the woman here who takes care of us cares but she has so many souls to care about that I am fine with leaving. Thank her for my soft landing and her thoughtful care, it is greatly appreciated. When she is ready, I am ready. Thank you.”

That about broke me. So I continued to love her and I fed her her beloved mash for a bit. And today, I let her go. I let her go to find happiness on the other side. I hope you all understand🖤

~ thank you Sam for this last picture of me and beautiful Franny🖤 ‘Saving One Draft Horse At A Time’. Sometimes you ‘save them’ differently …🖤

*Needless to say - or so I thought - Franny was checked by a vet also*

Happy Monday Everyone!!!! I will be sharing two more extraordinary equine rescues today. One is below. Give them a follow or like if you are so inclined! Have a fabulous Monday!!

A veterinarian ran blood work on Moxie and Mumu. What we are looking at is pure starvation and neglect; there were no underlying medical causes for their poor condition. They were starved to the point their muscle tissue was compromised. Could Moxie's age be a factor, the answer is no. In this day and age, major feed companies have invested millions of dollars into researching how best to support the nutritional needs of senior horses. There are products on the market, that did not exist 20 years ago, that would have sustained her nicely.

Since for September we have chosen to focus on equine rescues, I would like to share another that works diligently (like all rescues) to save lives.

Please remember we are not affiliated with any of these rescues, we just want to support the rescue of animals and help to end animal cruelty.

We want to represent the change we want to see in the world !!

I woke up to the sunrise and fog and jumped out of bed to share with you all. I went "live" early if you'd like to watch.

$5 Friday was replaced with Thankful Thursday yesterday. If anyone would like to donated in Charlie's honor. We will be doing virtual feedings and announced names of who is feeding the horses in Charlie's honor. Please comment or text me if you would like to donate in his honor. More details in this post. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/c5bUbrjTUTFFZTDy/

In honor of our boy Charlie, this mornings alfalfa and hay was sponsor and fed by Vanessa Leiker Last night's alfalfa was sponsored and fed by Christine Shae Conway. Our boy is helping his herd through all of you. THANK YOU! For helping us honor him.

This is tough to share as it’s so awful. But it’s a sad reality that people must be aware of.

Brings happy tears to my eyes. Watching some of these saved beautiful horses arriving at quarantine and start their vet evaluation. Thank you to every single person who made this possible 💕💕💕💕💕💕
