Our DJs have sent in their wish list and they want to "deck the studio" for Christmas! We are going to need a few Santas out there to help us check off their list and help fill our DJ booth with Christmas magic.

We are wishing for a tree, ornaments, stockings, lights, and a tiger Santa hat to help DJ Otto get in the holiday spirit (and most of our wishes are under $20). You can find our list at the Amazon link below.

chose Midnights by Taylor Swift!! Madi says, “You usually know that my shift has started at the station when you hear Taylor Swift. She was my first concert when I was eight years old and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Every album is at the top of the charts for me. She is a genius.”

Today we say goodbye to Loretta Lynn. As a college radio station based in Kentucky, we can’t let this legend of our home state pass without our goodbyes. Loretta wrote from the perspective of many women in Kentucky and Appalachia through her music. Her songs “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and many more reflect the experiences of women in rural Kentucky. She’s been called a leader of the rural resistance and a feminist outlaw by many. Thanks for helping lead the path for many women in the country music industry.

Meet a DJ Monday is back! Help us welcome one of our newest DJs, John McDonald. John is a sophomore from Frankfort, KY with a major in Communication and Media studies and a minor in art. John's favorite artist is Frank Ocean and he is passionate about film, music, art, and fashion. John is excited to work for WRVG because "I will be able to share my passion for the arts while also giving Georgetown students and other local artists a spotlight to display their talents."

💀It’s that time of year again!! Otto’s annual Halloween costume contest where you all decide who DJ Otto will be for Halloween!

So what’s going to happen is…

1. Comment the musical artist you want to see Otto dressed as.
2. Top 16 most-liked comments will go into a face off.
3. The person who’s suggestion wins the face off wins the Halloween Kickstarter Basket, with their own mini Otto!!

*must be a GC faculty, staff, or student to win. Best of luck & we can’t wait to see Otto’s Halloween costume this year

🎙senior farewells🎙

Saying goodbye to our seniors is always bittersweet but the time has come to send them off and wish them well!

Today’s senior is Kaylee-Dee.

She will miss coming in to the station and getting to play her favorite music and talking on air. “It was so nice to be able to share my thoughts and favorite tunes with an audience!”
Her future plans include going into go into research.
Her advice for her younger college self is: I would tell my freshman self to take a big deep breath and enjoy every minute of it. College is a time of growth, and prioritizing learning and growing is a great mindset. But I would also remind myself to have the most fun possible along the way, what is life if not to be enjoyed!”

We will miss you & wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors🖤

🎙senior farewells🎙

Saying goodbye to our seniors is always bittersweet but the time has come to send them off and wish them well!

Today’s senior is Jacqui. Jacqui is our back to back winner of Battle of the DJ’s!!!

She will miss walking into the station everyday and playing a rockin' show full of her favorite songs. “I have loved sharing my taste in music with all those who have tuned into my radio show.”

Jacqui has taken a job as a PTA (physical therapy assistant) and plans to eventually reapply to graduate school to become a physical therapist.

“I would tell my younger college self to keep an open mind about what you want to do in life. Things in life don't happen in a straight line, and in the end you might end up doing something you didn't think you'd be doing when you first started school.”

Jacqui’s favorite station memory is running the spring student showcase with her fellow djs and Dr. Rowlett.

We are going to miss you so much but know the rest of your journey will be successful!!

Happy !! Today we have our very talented, Sunny! Sunny is a freshman from Mason County, Kentucky. He is majoring in English and Communication, and his favorite band is AJJ. He is a big fan of Penelope Scott, The Mountain Goats, and Green Day. Sunny is excited to work for the radio station because he loves alternative music and want to share it with others. We are so happy to have you, Sunny!!!
