White Pine Television District is aware that KTVN Reno channel 2 is out. The problem is actually in Eureka. We were just informed that Eureka TV District is working on the problem. They are waiting on some parts so the channel may be out for a few more days. Thank you for your patience.

The board members and technicians apologize for all the television reception problems the past few weeks.

Technician Dan Cornutt had knee replacement surgery June 4 and can’t work for a few more weeks.

We know KSL Salt Lake is down. We have a crew (Lester Robison and Randy Larsen) who planned to go to Cave Mountain today to fix that problem. Of course it rained a bit yesterday so they are going up tomorrow. Hopefully they will be able to fix it and you can watch the Olympic tryouts!

Reno channels were down because of problems in Reno and Eureka. Those problems got fixed and everything came back up yesterday. Then it rained!!! Channels failed again. The crews in Eureka fixed them and channels were back up this morning.

Las Vegas KLAS 8 and companion channels are down because of a problem on Ella Mountain near Caliente. We have a plan to get the problem fixed in early to mid July.

We know it’s frustrating. We are frustrated also! Things go smoothly most of the time. But we have found that if Dan leaves town or gets sick (or surgery), that’s when things break! We are trying to keep up.

WOO HOO!!!! FM100 is finally back on line!!!! Thank you so much for all your patience!!!!
Thanks to White Pine Television District Board Member Brad Christiansen for your helping Technician Dan Cornutt to install the new receive antenna on Wednesday this week! Unfortunately we don’t have pictures!
Today Technician Dan Cornutt and I installed the new equipment inside the building at Murry Peak (formerly Squaw Peak).
Again, thanks for your patience throughout this ordeal! Hopefully it will continue to operate smoothly through the Christmas season this year. The last two christmases it wasn’t working!

Good morning! All Reno channels are out today. The problem is in Reno. The outage affects everyone between Reno and Elko and Ely. Hopefully the problem will be corrected soon. Thanks for your patience.

TELEVISION IS BACK!

Unfortunately, the power was out on Squaw (Murry) Peak today.
Dan and I are in Reno and Technician Ron Taylor contacted Mt. Wheeler Power Co. They just contacted Dan about 9:30 pm that a power line was down up there but they fixed it.

Many thanks to Mt. Wheeler Power crews and Ron Taylor for taking care of us.

You may have to rescan your television sets to get the channels.

Good afternoon loyal White Pine TV District! Dan and I are in Reno on our way home tomorrow. We have had a few calls concerning tv being out from Squaw (Murry) Peak. Technician Ron Taylor went up and there is a power line down. So power is out to our equipment. My. Wheeler Power has been notified and hopefully the power will be restored soon. UPDATE: Just talked to technician in Eureka. Air conditioning has gone out in Prospect Peak translator site. Temperature is 110 degrees and all equipment for Reno channels has shut down. As soon as someone can get to the site to fix the problem, they should be back on. There’s lots of snow still up high in the mountains so it may take awhile!

Awesome news! We finally have our FM radio transmitter! Came in Wednesday!!!! We are headed to Murry Peak (Squaw Peak) to install it today! Should have fm100 back on the air this afternoon! Hope it all goes as planned!

Update on White Pine Television District channels:
Reno channels: all back!
Las Vegas channels: all back!
Salt Lake channels: all working!

Unfortunately, television transmission to Lund-Preston area is still down. Technicians used snowcat to go up on Rib Hill to try to find the problem. Power is out completely to Rib Hill. They did determine there was a problem with Robison Mine power. They worked with electricians from the mine to try to determine where the problem is. The electricians are still working on it and hopefully power will be restored soon.

Good morning loyal subscribers!

Somebody in Reno using a backhoe cut a fiber cable so all Reno channels are down.

Technicians are taking snowcat to Rib Hill this morning to try to restore tv service to Lund area.

We notice this morning that only one channel from Las Vegas is working. That problem is down at Ella Mountain by Caliente.

We are still waiting for fm transmitter to come in so we can get FM100 back in service!

So best advice is be patient, turn your tvs off and go play in the snow! Have a great day and thanks so much for all your patience!

We apologize again for FM-100 being off the air. We are as frustrated as you! We are still waiting for the transmitter from the company. We will get it installed as soon as we get it!

We are aware of FM 100 being out. The White Pine Television District is working on the problem. We ordered a new transmitter for the FM 100 on Murry Peak. It was ordered at least a month ago. We are still waiting for it to arrive and then it will be installed and the FM station will be restored. We are so sorry for the inconvenience but we are at the mercy of the only company that has these transmitters.

Good morning loyal subscribers. We will be installing new equipment on Cave Mountain today, replacing the last of our old equipment which is obsolete and can’t be repaired.
There will be some outages during the day but we will be as quick as we can to get everything back up and broadcasting.

GREAT NEWS: Crews worked on getting antennas back on roof today and restored television to Ruth subscribers. This is just a temporary fix, but Ruth subscribers should be getting 41 channels. So rescan your television sets!

Good afternoon and Happy Easter everyone! Some progress has been made on the Ruth television problem. The crew worked yesterday (until it started to rain) and today and got one antenna back up. They are going back up tomorrow morning to get the other antenna back up.
The wind not only tore down the two receiver antennas, but it also damaged the roof. So this is a temporary fix.
Scan your television and you should have 25 channels. The rest SHOULD be back on tomorrow afternoon.

UPDATE: crew went to Ruth to assess the damage. There was also damage to the roof which will need repairs. It may take up to two weeks to accomplish all of this as new parts have to be ordered, etc. Again, we appreciate your cooperation, patience and understanding. We will get it back up and running as soon as possible.

Good morning to all our Ruth subscribers. We have major problems at the Ruth transmission site. The wind blew down the receiver antennas so no channels are available in Ruth. It will be a couple of days before problem is fixed. We thank you for your patience.
