Southwest Oklahoma — It feels great to be back in the field. We’ve been seeing good yields and high-test weights. The best wheat so far has been averaging 50 to 65 bushels per acre.

Holdrege, Nebraska - You’d think that things would slow down for me now that harvest is finished but I stay plenty busy in the harvest off-season. On my priority to-do list right now is settling up with farmers. I’ve also got cornstalk bales to haul and then grain to get moved.

Thanksgiving is in three days and we just finished harvest 2023. All four of our crews finished up at nearly the same time and traveled back home to Holdrege. My crew was in central Nebraska harvesting high yielding corn.

Worthington, Minnesota—Crews have completed all jobs by home, and by Elkton, South Dakota. We have seen a banner crop this year in both areas. Corn averaged anywhere from 180 to 295 bushels per acre.

Central Nebraska—We are staying busy harvesting corn. We have had several days of sunshine and clear blue skies and finally today we are harvesting dry loads testing under 17%. I was beginning to think the corn wasn’t going to dry down.

We potentially have fourteen days left for our fall harvest but it seems like it’s going to be in the span of 3 weeks. After the 8 to 14 inches of snow we have received, we are finally starting to see some movement in the fields.
