Plan and determine what you would like to become and where you would want to be in five, ten, twenty, or so and so years down the line..... For our young folks today, I would encourage you to focus on finding pathways that can lead you to a good and a successful life that you can enjoy living. I decided to just do that when I was at Balob Teachers College in 1992. Today, I'm happy where I am eventhough, life's storms continue to challenge me. I thank those who stood with me thirty-two years ago and continue to support me in their thoughts and prayers. I have no regrets! You determine your future. Nobody else will and it's starts now if you haven't already.

In my life's unending journey, I was tested with the forces from within and outside more than ever. I lost alot but also won alot; in the processes. I failed, I cried, I laughed, I learned, and I loved but most importantly, I'm still here, I didn't break nor I lost 'hope'. Keep hoping for the best to come. Today is not the end!

You must have read the story about James Zerobe John in this space about our friendship dating back six plus years via Facebook. Last week, he graduated with an MBA from Andrews SDA University and today he tied the knot with the woman of his dreams. He achieved these through commitment, sacrifice, effort, hope and faith in God. Dreams are free. Goals have a cost. While you can daydream for free, goals don't come without a price.

The PNG LNG Project is a US$19 billion integrated projected that is commercializing gas from various fields in Hela and Southern Highlands provinces. ExxonMobil PNG operates the project on behalf of 5 co-venture partners, which include the PNG Government (Kumul Petroleum) and Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC). As it celebrates ten years anniversary, I want to know how this mega project impacted and raised the living standards of Papua New Guineans, let alone providing job opportunities for our jobless?

A lot of graduates graduating each year ending up with no jobs. I get messages each day via this page asking for job opportunities from new graduates and those who have graduated years ago and still struggle to find a decent job. This saddens me because the number of unemployed youth quadruple each year. The PNG government can't create jobs and the problem continues. Instead of you looking for a job; you let potential employers look for you. You can do this by selling you curriculum vitae (CV) in several ways;
- Blogging about your work experience or about your achievements;
– Create a campaign for yourself on social media and explain what are your job skills;
– Hosting a meetup and give an introduction about yourself;
– Watching popular TED talks or giving a talk yourself;
– Be creative in person! Stand at the entrance of your favorite cafe with a sign “Hi! My name is – and I’m looking for a job in -“;
– Invest in a professional-looking resume template;
– Add links to your social media pages on your resume;
– Use a photo or video of yourself as a header photo on LinkedIn
– Get creative with your resume email address – use “Hello@” instead of “Dear Sir or Madam.”
None of these can harm your job search, at the very least you’ll make some meaningful connections… Remember; the world is quickly becoming a 'global village' using the latest technologies and you could end up working for someone anywhere in the world. So, make use of these avenues to sell and get yourself exposed. Good luck!🙂

Sometimes; it's important for you to postpone or let go of some important things in life to pursue something that you are passionate about. You can always come back to it when you accomplished what you aimed for. I postponed marriage until I finished university and had a job. As they always say; save the good things for last and you will see that your life is complete with what you need. It won't be a successful journey but you made some sacrifices and that's a good feeling🫶

🫶During my formative years; there were alot of arranged marriages unlike today. Off course, my parents and extended family would look for someone for me because I didn't have a girlfriend at that time🙂. All young ladies approached had similar words to say: 'We don't want to marry a simple community school teacher' (I was teaching at that time). This was going on for years. I didn't like it because it became an issue among my extended families and the community. Finally, I had a big feast and called everyone together to make an announcement. I decided to pursue further studies and that I called off the 'marriage' issue. It was devastating for them but for me I knew that there were lots of fish in other seas. Today, those ladies that we approached for marriage have been married and have kids but all of them are single mothers raising their kids. You know why they are in such situations like these with no dads/husbands.
A message for our young folks; when you are young, energetic, and have the full package within yourself; grab the rare opportunities that presents itself because it comes once and for all. If you don't, you will regret it later in life but if opportunities doesn't present itself, you go looking for them or make up your mind to do something better so you don't regret later in your life. The tough decision to the latter that I made has taken me to several places around the world, and offcourse places like America🇺🇸. I am glad that I made that decision almost 30 years ago🫶.
Note: I forgave these ladies and today, I talk to them and their kids. We remain best of friends🧡

It’s arguably never been a more confusing time to be a father. After centuries of a clearly defined role, the make up of what a dad is has changed dramatically in recent years. Throughout history, mothers were the caregivers and fathers were the absent providers. Now, we know that more and more dads see themselves as equal caregivers to their children. We actively prepare for fatherhood and the active role we want to play in the day-to-day care of our children. We want to take more paternity leave when our babies are born and we want to work more flexibly so that we can spend more time with our kids. And many of us are even taking on the role of stay-at-home dads while the mum is the full-time breadwinner, signalling a total shift in societal gender roles🫶

1. Set clear and specific goals;
2. Develop a plan;
3. Stay disciplined and focused;
4. Continuously learn and adapt;
5. Believe in yourself;
6. Surround yourself with positive people;
7. Take care of your physical and mental well-being; and
8. Stay persistent.
If we are not courageous enough to take risks, we will accomplish nothing in life🫶.

'Bronner's Christmas Wonderland'
is the world's largest 'Christmas Store' all-year-round located here in Michigan. Bronner's now draws over two million visitors annually, arriving from across the USA and around the world! I visit this store so many times. Each time I visit, I'd like to stop by their collection of different currencies around the world. Something catches my attention and that puts a smile😃on my face. What you see there was a donation to this store by late Biama Kanasa from Morobe Province who was on a mission trip to the USA under ELC-PNG, Papua District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Papua New Guinea (ELC-PNG)

A sad trend that is growing everyday in PNG is that; when you ask for help or information, it quickly turns to a 'money-making scheme' for whom you asking. It doesn't matter, if someone you know, a friend or even your own family member. These people colude with their friends to make sure you 'pay' (kola money, lunch box, etc...) to get what you want. If you don't pay for what you asked, your request will be swept under the carpet. In places, like America, any person, even strangers will give you the information you asked without any strings attached. I am saddened by this trend in a country where I spent my formative years. Please; do the right thing by 'sharing information' and 'help others' who needed help without any strings attached. A little step like this will go a long way to brighten someone's gloomy day.

Young Americans (ages 16-21) who are in school make a tonne of money💰 while still attending high school or college. There's alot of jobs in here that people in this age category can do really well. As I write this, there are more jobs here for young folks. I just hope that, in the 'near future' a concerned PNG government for the people should discuss this idea with the USA government to send our young folks here for job opportunities. A government to government based arrangement should minimize any bureaucratic redtape and this should be a way forward. I've heard some 'tokwin' regarding this by the current government but so far too much thunder and no rain. Hopefully, we'll see something tangible from this current PNG government before their term expires.

Forging someone's signature to obtain something is 'not sucess'. Copying someone's academic achievements to enter a school is 'not sucess'. Going through the back door to bribe someone to obtain something is 'not sucess'. Using a different name on someone else's certificate is 'not sucess'. Compromising the established processes and procedures to get what you want is 'not sucess'. If you have fallen into one or all of the above, you've damaged your reputation for being honest, loyal, or having high moral principles. In other words, you have compromised yourself. Be 'you', be honest, respect the processes and procedures; follow them...even if it means you are last in the line. Be positive, have hope, and keep moving forward. 'Sucess' requires 'honesty and hardwork' no shortcuts!

Most of our people in the villages where tribal warfare is prevalent don't speak English. Issues of national importance should be addressed in Pidgin English (most part) and less English. I keep seeing leaders speaking English in the villages addressing crowds of people. Are they ashamed of speaking Tok Pisin? I am confused, somebody help me out here!

I don't vote in PNG nor do I support any political leaders and their parties but this footage from PNG's EMTV news struck me. My observations from here depicts that PNG is in the ICU and needs immediate help. Only PNG's like-minded leaders with the people and country at heart will bring PNG back to life.
