Very excited to announce the return of Listen Closely Radio on Bombshell Radio after a 3 year hiatus ,now on Wednesday's 9 to 11 P.M starting next week and every week .I'll be at the mic and in charge creating Free Form radio, covering a wide range of music and styles, and usually with a theme. Think FM radio from the 70s and Early 80s. Programmed for the music fan. I very much enjoy turning people onto and connecting over music they may not have heard in a long time or not at all. It's always been about the music for me...The music comes first. Radio and radio platforms are a means to present to you, but there is so much music out there that hardly gets played. We will pick up where we left off at show number 93 "Take down the walls and Open the Door!". Some people think this kind of radio is self-indulgent.. I don't think so at all. I see it as listen or don't. Hopefully some of you will join me on the journey and I look forward to those of you that were listening and supportive to coming back again! Fresh off a vacation from North Carolina, the freeform musical journey across 5 decades of music continues starting on the road, and winding up who knows where. Included in the show is a set about Wine inspired by a recent trip to Laurita Winery as well as meeting the very talented Wade Preston who performed a Billy Joel cover show a few weeks ago there. A nod to Stevie Ray Vaughn who passed in 1990 a few days ago, Tony Bennett, Billy Hector who will be playing at The Idle Hour in Point Pleasant NJ Thursday 8/31 at 7 P.M., a new Al Green recording, along with recent or new music sprinkled in from Wade Preston, Christone Kingfish Ingraham, Jason Isbell, Boygenius and Jayla Kai. So it was about 15 years ago that I started Listen Closely Radio on Rutgers Radio WRSU-FM at 6 AM on I believe a Friday morning. No one at the station as I nervously said the call letters, and went into my first song. In Summer of 2018 after 10 years, I left the station to have total freedom over the show, and in Fall of 2018 the show debuted on Mixcloud.com Thanks for Listening and your support over all these years and for keeping Free Form Radio alive.
