The Falls of the Ohio Foundation will host Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper for their annual benefit concert, Rock the Rocks, presented by Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. The live outdoor concert on the 390-million-year-old fossil beds of the Falls of the Ohio State Park will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m. Opening will be Dean Heckel and The Jason Carter Band. 🎸

As mom Heather Brown watches, Matthew Sharp, 3, chooses a backpack at a giveaway held Aug. 3 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in New Salisbury. Matthew is starting preschool this year. The church gave away backpacks filled with school supplies and containing a New Testament. Those attending were also treated to a hot dog lunch. The church will hold its annual toy giveaway on Dec. 7.

The 2025 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship application is now available in Crawford County through the Community Foundation of Crawford County. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program (LECSP) will provide 147 scholarships statewide and 1 scholarship in Crawford County.

The program is open to all Indiana residents who: will graduate from an accredited Indiana high school by 2025 and receive their diploma no later than June 30, 2025; intend to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study at an eligible college or university in Indiana; and meet the criteria specific to their local community foundation. Georgetown Optimist Club announces winner of the Pollinator Pallet Contest

The Georgetown Optimist Club is proud to announce the winners of the Pollinator Pallet contest. First place was Amelia Nantz $100, second place was Mary Ann Kaelin $75, and third was Roselyn Todd $50. Nine of the entries submitted now get to paint their pictures on wood pallets to be placed in the Butterfly Garden to act as a windbreak. Pictured, from left, are Roselyn Todd, Amelia Nantz.

HARRISON COUNTY FARM BUREAU TO HOST ANNUAL MEETING

The meeting is set for Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m at the Wendell Memorial Agriculture Building at the fairgrounds. The doors open at 6 p.m. Enjoy a meal catered by The Farm House Kitchen.

It's not too late to register and attend the Annual Meeting. Tickets are $5 per person and you can RSVP to Laura at the Harrison County Farm Bureau office at (812)738-4151 or at the door on Thursday.

Supper will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Joe Dotson, a local Harrison County musician. The guest speaker will be Colette Childress with the Indiana Farm Bureau. Door prizes are on tap. Harrison County Farm Bureau looks forward to seeing you there!
