Hi everyone,

Over the years, we’ve grown as a public radio organization, first taking over the reins of WGUC from the University of Cincinnati and later purchasing WVXU from Xavier University. Since we acquired them separately, each station had its own social media pages. Since then, we’ve merged both stations into one organization: Cincinnati Public Radio.

You may have heard about our move to a new state-of-the-art building in Evanston next year, where we will have an opportunity to engage even more with the community as Cincinnati Public Radio brings you news and information from 91.7 WVXU/88.5 WMUB and the best in classical music from 90.9 WGUC. To bring you more content, we’ve decided to merge the WVXU and WGUC Meta social media pages into Cincinnati Public Radio pages.

As such, the 91.7 WVXU Facebook and Instagram pages have been renamed “Cincinnati Public Radio,” where we will post social media content that includes news and music updates from both of our radio stations. We are encouraging WGUC Facebook and Instagram followers to follow the combined Cincinnati Public Radio pages on page and Instagram.

This should streamline things for fans, help our followers discover new content, and hopefully allow us to bring you even even more as we get ready for our move to our new location at 2117 Dana Avenue.

Please join us by following all of our Cincinnati Public Radio social media accounts.

There's something wrong with the plumbing in Cincinnati. Sewage is bubbling up in our basements and pouring into our waterways. Climate change is making it worse, and the powers that be can't seem to agree on how to fix it.

Hop in, gang, we're solving a mystery in the sewers.

As you tune in or connect with WGUC on Sunday nights for our broadcasts of the Cincinnati Symphony or May Festival or Cincinnati Opera, do you ever wonder how that was accomplished? Would you be surprised to know it is all in the hands of one person? Recording and Mastering Engineer Joel Crawford may have an office at our station, but his real workplace is in the wings and the attic and the stage of Music Hall.

We all know WVXU’s Bill Rinehart as an outstanding reporter and local host of All Things Considered each weekday afternoon. Several years ago, the Nebraska native put his innate curiosity to the test by tackling the feature we call OKI Wanna Know. Listeners are encouraged to share that odd or offbeat question about something local that’s been bugging them.

So, here’s our question to Bill:

How do you put those segments together?

And why?
