Bridge work to begin on S 471 starting next week. Crews will be blocking the right lane on the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge from Downtown to Memorial Pkwy. They will also have the right lane blocked on Ft. Washington Way/US 50 to the ramp to S 471. This will be 24/7 for the next 90 days. The left lane NB 471 will continue to be closed until they complete that project. Plus you will have double and triple lane closures in the overnight hours in both directions between 8 pm and 5 am, Sunday thru Thursday.

👷I-471 Bridge Repair/Maintenance Project Update👷

Southbound work on the I-471 Daniel Carter Beard Bridge is scheduled to begin next Monday, Sept. 23. This work will be performed simultaneously with ongoing northbound work. Here’s an overview of the updated traffic impacts.

Work continues on the northbound portion of the I-471 Bridge, the 24/7 left lane closure will remain in place until northbound work is complete. Additionally, double and/or triple lane closures are possible Sunday through Thursday during overnight hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

For the southbound work, a 24/7 southbound single right lane closure will be in place beginning the evening of Monday, Sept. 23. This lane closure will remain in place until southbound work is complete. Additionally, the right lane on the U.S. 50 eastbound to I-471 southbound ramp in Ohio will be closed 24/7. Beginning the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 24, crews will also begin utilizing a left lane closure as needed from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Expect a double lane closure while traveling southbound during these hours.
