Tomorrow, live on KZFR 90.1 FM at 7pm, we sit down with the Bonfire storytelling creator Bonnie Pipkin and guests about a truly amazing event in our community!

Bonfire is a multi-generational storytelling event held the first week of the month at the Chico Women’s Club. Every month, author and educator, Bonnie Pipkin, along with local handyman, Dylan Latimer, work with 6 storytellers, each from a different age decade, to bring their ten-minute stories to the stage. Bonfire celebrates age representation and diversity in all its many forms. Also joining the conversation in the studio are past participants Andrew Kinley and Adrianna Wiley. A plethora of talent, Dallas earned a Bachelor's in music from CSU Chico, is a local music instructor, performs locally & regionally in the bands Radio Relapse and Channel 66. This week on KZFR 90.1 FM we interview researcher, writer, and sacred historian Shane Clayton (AKA Montane). Shane has been a student of the Western Esoteric Traditions and a practicing astrologer since the mid-70s. After visiting the 1978 touring Tutankhamun exhibit in Seattle, Shane became deeply fascinated by ancient Egypt and he never looked back. This interest culminated with a solo visit there 40 years later where he encountered the Egyptian god forms and 4,000-year-old recipes for incense and fragrant anointing oil offerings to them that were inscribed on the temple and tomb walls. Finding that no one else had troubled to reproduce these inspired his own research and the formulation of reproductions that are now offered for sale at his ‘The Egyptian’ Sacred Scents Store. Shane also practices a form of Mesoamerican shamanism based upon the use of the psychedelic green plant Salvia divinorum, which he grows and shares at his Wandering Stars cottage in Butte Valley.
