The 79th annual Rush Springs Watermelon Festival is under way! The largest watermelon grown by Bratcher Melons for the second straight year, 201 1/2 pounds. They set the record for biggest melon in festival history last year at 225 pounds !
Chickasha Elks Lodge Kids Fishing Derby
A fresh supply of catfish has just been delivered to rhe pond at Shannon Springs Park. The Elks Lodge Kids Fishing Derby is tomorrow, Saturday, June 8th. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
Three lifetime fishing licenses will be given way!

The pond at Chickasha’s Shannon Springs Park was stocked with 2,000 pounds of catfish today, ahead the Chickasha Elks Lodge kids fishing derby tomorrow. This was the first two tanks emptied into the pond. Businessman Steve LaForge has stocked the pond for several years. The fishing derby is free for kids 16-and-under. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and fishing starts at 9:00 a.m. three lifetime fishing licenses will be given away - one in each of the three age groups
